Capítulo 10: FIRST Group
When Roan kicked the bear's neck, he was not confident in his strength to kill the bear.
He just gave his all. In the face of death he did not feel scared. He was a little depressed, he learned to use energy and was going to be killed.
For him the boring citizen life did not matter. He wanted excitement, danger and thrill in his life.
When the body of dead bear thumped on the ground, he fell down too.
He was so hurt in the battle that his legs were shaking.
Suddenly energy flowed into his body. It made his exhausted body re energize. The damage done to his shoulder was healed, there was no pain.
He laid down on the ground. His body felt fresh but his mind was tired of the recent battle. He opened the system status menu.
[ Killed intermediate tier beast ]
[ Instant Level up ]
[ Obtained Iron Bear beast crystal ]
He noticed that he was hurt when he was standing but when the notification showed up his body automatically healed.
"Is it because I leveled up?" he came to a conclusion that only leveling up could have healed him.
He did not further think about it. He checked the new messages.
Seeing only three notifications pop up he frowned. He noticed that the little club has still not been killed.
When the adult bear saved its child, it only killed three or four groups of ant. Except for those group, the rest should have already hunted the cub.
But there was no notification for killing. He noticed that this time the crystal has already been obtained by the system.
He did not have to cut the beast's body and dig the crystal out of it.
He stood up and looked for the remaining ants and the bear cub.
"If the bear cub did not die after assault of hundreds of basic tier ants then it must be an intermediate tier too". he thought
He went to place the bear placed its cub. He noticed a stone which he previously thought was connected to ground, was actually a hidden tunnel.
The stone was close to the left wall. If one did not look closely, they would likely ignore it assuming the cave is uneven.
The stone was not so tall. It was flat in rectangular shape which covered the escape tunnel in cave.
"The bear cub must have used it to escape and could not place the rock back to cover the tunnel."
He did not want to hunt the bear cub. He was just curious how the cub escape that many of ants.
He could not feel the connection of his illusion on them.
"I do not know the range of the lens yet. The ants must have chased the cub too far and broke out of my illusion." this was the most likely thing to have happened according to him.
He walked inside the to check if there are other beasts inside. It was clearly not possible for beast to hide here.
But the arrival of the adult bear gave him a lesson to have precautions. He checked the cave and found no another beast.
He then sat on a stone opened the system to distribute his stats.

He placed all five stat points into energy. He never used energy in training. That was the reason his energy stat was lowest out of all his stats.
However, the use of energy doubled his combat power. Which made him interested in skills related to energy.
Earlier he only wanted to max out his all stats so his body would not breakthrough to Rank E.
He used his energy stat just to put the stats in and overall balance his stats. But now he specifically wanted to max out his energy stat.
After distributing his stat points he took another look on his stats.

"One more instant level up and I would have to store the stat points. I don't know if I can actually store the stat points for future use."
"If the system actually lets me store the stat points then I would have no trouble in fights. I can use my unused stat points as my trump card."
He was still In the cave when he heard the sound of footsteps. The sound of footsteps was more like group of humans than beasts.
He used his watch to check the location of nearby students. He found out that it's really other students coming.
It was actually the FIRST group. On the students group ranking the first group already ranked top.
They scanned four basic tier beast crystal and one intermediate tier.
Roan looked at them coming openly in the cave towards him. The First group members saw him too. They were now walking to him as of they own the place.
"Are they really that much of idiots? don't they see the peak intermediate bird on the peak" roan frowned.
One of the members of group came in front of Roan and was about to say something.
He moved his mouth to speak but then shut up. His eyes showed shock then again relaxed.
Roan noticed that the student has seen the dead bear. "What is your name? Did you kill the beast in cave?" asked the student.
Hearing the student speak other three members noticed the bear too.
"Roan, I did not kill it, It was already dead when i came" he did not want to shock the group and claim that he killed an intermediate tier beast alone.
Nor would the group believe that a student killed an intermediate beast solo.
The student who questioned seemed to have expected such answer and nodded in satisfaction.
"I am Brian, the leader of first group. If you want to earn some beast crystal then we can help you survive the trial." the student who questioned him earlier said as if pitying the poor.
"No, I have some friends I would meet later." Roan rejected Brian with an apologetic tone.
He knew a group such as this would only make him bait for beast. Even if they treat him well he would still prefer hunting solo.
Brian seem to have not expected such answer. He thought stating his identity would be enough to make people accept the proposal.
One of the there remaining student said in anger "We are giving you a chance to survive and you are rejecting our good intentions"
Roan did not want trouble. He thought of the best possible way to avoid the group and leave.
The student scolding him noticed that Roan not at all paid attention to his words. This made him furious.
He dashed to Roan with his right hand pulled back to smack the ignorant trying to be smart boy.
Roan did not expect the student to suddenly dash to him for attack.
He used his left hand to grab the student's right hand. Brian and others did not expect Roan to defend instead of dodging.
They knew the result of punch, the punch would break Roan's hand. They not at all bothered to warn Roan.
Roan blocked the punch and shattered the student's palm. The student screamed in pain.
Seeing the things go unexpected way. The other three members frowned. One of them shouted " Jack are you okay? What happened? Did you not use your beast soul?"
He could not believe that Jack would be the one to get hurt. But it was more unlike that Jack would go easy on someone.
Roan not at all paid attention to their screams. He unintentionally shattered Jack's palm and instantly released his grip.
Brian and others thought that Jack did not use his basic tier beast soul at full strength. It would be impossible for other students to bear the strength of his strike.
Brian looked at Roan. He not at all cared for Jack being hurt. Seeing him unconcerned made Brian frown.
He stared fiercely at Roan and said "You ass** ! how dare you hurt my teammate."
Roan looked at Brian who was angry but calm enough to not recklessly attack him like the idiot Jack.
"Oh, did I come running to punch him? I am sorry , I apologize" said Roan mocking him.
Brian was already angry but listening to Roan's sarcasm made him more wish to kill him. But he did not want himself to be hurt like Jack.
Brian was in middle of his thought when he saw Roan walk to the Bear's dead body.
Roan thought for a while and finally got the method to leave them without trouble.
He walked to the dead bear and dug out his half knife coming out of bear's neck.
He gripped the knife and dug it out making the hole in bear's neck grow wide.
Seeing the knife come out of bear's neck frightened Brian and others. Earlier they were not sure but now seeing the knife from academy they knew they kicked iron plate.
All four members of group had their legs trembling as if they were seeing a devil play with its knife.
Roan turned to look at the students with bloodstained knife in his hand and smiled at them.
The smile sent chill to their bones. Roan laughed like maniac and said "RUN".
