" What did you say, you used what?" Vanessa was sure that she might have misheard because no way any man would be stupid enough to do something like using his marriage savings on buying toys and whatnot for someone he doesn't even know about anything, that too just in the name of kindness! 

"I used my marriage savings, I have been in a very stable situation thanks to you, Miss Vanessa…and no longer need to worry about this medical health benefit or that education loan, I have paid for everything this month on time, that's why I used the savings in my account to buy these things," throughout the entire explanation Nick's speech didn't even falter in the least and Charity who could sense the low body temperature wafting off from Vanessa's body, couldn't make out whether Nick was pure stupid or he just didn't fear Vanessa. With his smile and Vanessa's doting, she was slightly more inclined towards the latter choice.
