Serenity had been living with them for a couple of days now. She didn't realize how much she missed waking up in a neat house. She did some morning stretches and called up to Diana, who was upstairs. "Hey, Diana! I'm gonna go outside to train. Could you have some water ready for me when I come back in?" She says in a loud voice. "Sure thing!" Diana calls back from upstairs. "Thanks!" She says, walking out the back door.
Serenity had been training for a while when PAM said something. "Serenity, I'm detecting something strange in your area..." She says. "Huh? Do you have any idea what it is?" Serenity asks. "No... But it's approaching fast!" PAM says. Just then, a figure jumps from a roof. They stood up, and Serenity saw their face. She couldn't believe her eyes. "Isaiah..." She says in shock. He had some markings scattered throughout the skin of his neck, but his face was untouched. It looked just like it did the last time she saw him. Something about the way he looked at her was... cold. "I've spotted Clemente. What are your orders, Abrianna?" He says. He is silent for a moment. "As you wish." He says. He then runs toward her and punches her in the face multiple times. Eventually, Serenity reluctantly fights back. "Isaiah, what has she done to you?" She asks. He then manages to grab her by the neck. "What are you going on about, Clemente?" He asks. "Izzy, please... I'm your sister." She says as a tear falls down her cheek amidst the fresh bruises. He then looks at her with rage in his eyes before throwing her into a wall. He then rushes toward her and punches her into the wall once more before letting her fall to the ground. He then stomps on her back. "Two centuries must have made you senile, Clemente! I've never had a sister. The only family I've ever had is Ms. Millicent." He says. He then holds her down, grabs her hands, and forces them behind her back. Just as he was about to use the devices on his hands to bind her hands, Diana rushed in and pushed him off of her. "Urgh! I know it may not seem clear to you, citizen, but I'm apprehending a war criminal! Stand down!" He says as he struggles with her. "Sorry! No can do! Tell Abrianna I hope she chokes on a cock." Diana says. "I see Clemente has brainwashed you." He says. Diana scoffs. "You're delusional if you think she's the one doing the brainwashing," Diana responds. Adira then comes out after noticing the scene and goes to Serenity's side. "Serenity, are you okay?" She asks. Serenity was still in shock and couldn't respond. "Serenity!" She says, shaking her. She shakes her head. "Y-yeah! I... I'm fine! Just... got a bit shaken up." She says, patting her shoulder. She then stands up. "Get to the car, you two! I'll be right behind you!" Diana says. "But Mom-" Adira starts to say, but Diana interrupts her. "I'll be fine. Just go!" She says. Then, Serenity and Adira run through the house and get into the car. They see that Mr. Tivona has already started it and that Deacon is also in it. Eventually, Diana comes out of the house with Isaiah following closely behind her. She then hops into the open door, and they start to drive. Isaiah attempted to use the devices on his feet to leap toward them, but they seemed to be malfunctioning.
"Why won't these damn things work?" Isaiah says. "It's that contraption of hers. I'm surprised it still functions." Abrianna says from his earpiece. "Well, what do I do now?" He asks. Abrianna is silent for a moment. "Let them go," Abrianna says. "What? But Abrianna, she's a danger to society!" He says. "We'll get her eventually. We just have to wait for her to be alone." She says. "But-" He starts to say before she interrupts him. "You trust me, don't you, Izzy?" She says. "Of course! Always!" He says. "Then let them go." She says. He sighs. "Fine." He says before rushing off.
Diana notices Isaiah run away. "He ran away. Must have gotten frustrated." She says. "Well, it's good that he's not chasing us anymore, but where are we supposed to go now? We can't go back to the house..." Adira says. "We'll figure it out. Don't worry, sweetheart." Mr. Tivona says. They are all silent for a moment. Adira looks over at Serenity and notices that tears are streaming down her cheeks despite her best efforts to hold them back. "Serenity... That wasn't just a random person... was it?" She asks. Serenity is silent for a moment. "M-my Izzy... She turned him into... that..." She says through gritted teeth as her voice shakes slightly. "Oh, Serenity... I'm so sorry." Adira says. "You know... My offer is still open, Serenity..." Diana says. Serenity looks at her for a moment. Her eyes were still teary. She then looks down. "Eh, I suppose a little therapy wouldn't hurt." She says, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. She then sighs as she leans her head back. "Sorry you had to see me like that, Adira." She says. "Serenity, I don't expect you to put on a strong face in every situation. None of us do. You're only human." Adira says, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I... Thanks, Adira... I think actually hearing someone say that... takes a little bit of pressure off my shoulders." Serenity says. "Of course! I'm happy I could help. Even if it's only a little bit." Adira says, taking her hand off her shoulder. Serenity chuckles slightly. "You're a sweet kid, Adira. Just like your mom." She says. "Thank you, Serenity. I... um... I try." Adira says. Adira then turns her attention to the front passenger seat. "Hey, Freckles, you okay up there? You've been pretty quiet." Adira says. "H-huh? Oh! Um... Sorry! This whole situation just... overwhelmed me, I guess. But I'm fine!" Deacon says. "Okay. I was just a little worried." She says. The car then goes silent once more as they continue to drive to an unknown location.
