Capítulo 23: Chapter 22

What do we call a person who cannot understand themselves? A naïve or maybe a troubled person.

But what do we call a person who denies the truth of themselves? An ignorant or a broken person?

In which category did she land when she was sitting on the couch, waiting for Sameer to bring a glass of water for her?

Even through the hellish feelings in her heart, she was there with a person who was unlike Vihan.

Not only in personality, full of confidence and cheekiness but also physically.

He was tall with tan skin and sharp brown eyes, wearing a blue shirt that was folded at the elbows, and black pants that squeezed around his ass-cheeks.

One could easily tell that he had planned to seduce her from the moment she'd stepped foot inside his apartment. But one can also not blame him, for Leena was there for the seduction.

His lips had an evil curl for a shape, which always outshone his kind eyes. His body was bulkier than

Vihan's, almost like a big puppy, and his hands were chubby like a stuffed toy, handing her a glass of water.

"I'm sorry, you had to walk so much to reach here." He smiled brightly with confident eyes, sitting beside her, while she was scanning the last detail of his features, a scar on his jaw.

He instantly noticed her unmoved eyes, for she did not reply, making him run his finger on his cut. "My cat did this."

"Oh, you like cats?" Leena questioned as she placed the glass on the table before her, offering her full attention to Sameer.

"Yes." Sameer smiled brightly, agitated with the sharp eye contact the college student held before him.

She was someone who brought an aura similar to a sugary spider web with her, making everything and everything stick to the web, unable to achieve freedom.

He was also instantly hooked by her demeanor. She was just so confident and calm yet with a hint of hurricane, making her a different species.

"Where is she?" She then asked, to which a somber frown coated Sameer's face, making him intertwine his fingers, turn his eyes away from her, and lick his lips before he answered, "She passed away a month ago."

"Oh! I'm sorry!" Leena regretfully apologized and gingerly shifted her gaze from his dull face to the wall, which swiftly lightened up as he said, "Don't be. Everyone has to die one day."

There was something wrong with the light on his face. It was as if his eyes weren't agreeing with his lips. He was trying so hard to make her eyes comply, but could not.

She quickly recognized that and unconsciously placed a finger on his cut, muttering, "It must be a deep cut for it to stay this long."

Sameer was taken aback by her sudden touch, softly twitching, with eyes full of astonishment.

"Umm." He cut her off, withdrawing his face an inch away from her touch while she added, "Does it still hurt?"

"No!" He breathed heavily once again, shifting his gaze away from her and onto the floor.

"That's good. But you should use something for the scar." She added, and he answered, "It's okay, I kind of want it to stay there."

"I understand it. When I lost my dog, my mother suggested donating our dog's toys, but I couldn't do it for a long time. They felt like him and I did not want him to be gone."

"You had a dog?" He questioned with compassion and shifted his gaze once again to her face. She was staring at the wall with numbness on her face, while a peculiar serenity was gushing through her veins.

Maybe it was because she found solace to confide in someone who was older and understood her pain. It felt as if for the first time someone saw through her peculiar nature, other than Vritti.

"Can we talk about something else?" She questioned with an uplifted smile as she peered through his warm eyes, while he was still gazing at the peculiarity that her face held.

Her expression seemed unnatural, almost as if she was trying to smile for him.

"If you don't want to, you don't have to smile." He murmured, prompting a jolt of shock through her spine. Her eyes enlarged at the unexpected words, while her lips willed to question him, but could not.

"Let's have dinner!" He had boomed with a smile, breaking the strong connection between their eyes, and stood tall, stretching a palm towards her.

She wanted to question him, but what good would it bring? Their meeting was supposed to be nothing but a one-night stand.

So, she followed him to the dining table but suddenly halted her steps in the midway, prompting him to freeze with stuttering eyes.

She could not even spend time with him, for she knew, would only bring chaos, a feeling of accountability towards Vihan was talking at this point. But as usual, she did not understand herself or simply did not want to accept.

The reason he had stopped the conversation midway was because, for the first time, his heart was booming louder and faster than it should have. He felt something chisel down his spine the moment her eyes changed their color because of his words.

He could not afford to feel like that. It was just a one-time meeting, and he wasn't allowed to feel that way, but that feeling only increased and it broke through him when she turned him around to face her.

"We both know we are not here to eat together." She whispered as she took a step closer to him and planted her palms on his cheeks, prompting his hands to fist up and feet to strengthen their grip on the floor.

For the very first time, a woman had made him feel that way. "You have gorgeous brown eyes." She whispered an inch away from his lips, and swiftly planted her lips to his, making him draw a sharp breath of acceptance through his nose.

It was as if something unordinary had touched his lips, shaking his whole being.

She began sucking his lips, leading his lips to follow her lead, and swiftly drove her tongue inside his mouth, causing him to plant his hands on her waist.

The kiss only grew deeper and more passionate as she pushed him towards his bedroom, like the heavy night upon them, while he welcomed intimacy he had never felt before.

The next he remembered he was all by himself, slithering on the mattress as his eyes opened up from the deep slumber, craving for more of her. Not at all satisfied with her lingering scent.

She had left right after they were done, as she should. But he wanted her to stay as he shouldn't.

He regretted not asking her to stay with him, which he never does, rubbing himself to the sheets her skin had touched, while she was in her first class, staring at Vritti, who was sitting two seats ahead of her.

As Leena wanted, her emotions had changed. She was not at all frustrated by her lingering desires.

But what she felt now was more powerful and ominous than that.

So, after the class ended, she pulled Vritti aside to tell her what she had done the last night. The thing she would regret the most in her life.

"You did want?" Vritti found the ground beneath her feet slipped away, astounded and angry as she should be.

Neither could she believe her ears, nor Leena, that she could go that far just to prove her wrong.

"So, this is how you prove me wrong?"
