Capítulo 17: Knight, mage and archer part 2
The hall of the adventurer's guild went into an uproar! People got really scared and started to run for their lives. Max did not really care for the other people. They generally were not involved.
Derek was one of the first people to exit. He said while moving away from Max: "I'll wait for you outside boss Max."
Max nodded. It was easier for him to operate with less people around.
"So, who is ready to eat this fireball you shitters? Where is all your courage?! Want to try and make me surrender? I can level this building with all of you inside. It will not be a big loss believe me. I can even level all this city if I want to and no one can stop me! Now write a mage in the fucking ID card. Do you understand that this is a fireball? Do you know that a fireball can be made by a mage? Or I need to explain more things to you?!" Max yelled. He was totally losing his shit. He was ready to get it on.
The lady attendant started to panic and wrote something wrong in the ID card. The guards stopped in their tracks. They were feeling cold sweat forming on their backs. The heat of the fireball was not helping because it was hard to breath in that environment because of the heat.
When Max saw the clerk write "mge" instead of "mage" he lost it completely. "How can you work here and not know how to write?! Write Knight, mage and archer. My name in Max. Write MAX! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS!?" He shouted. Then he turned to the guards and shouted at them: "You want to eat my fireball? maybe show you some knight skills you retards!?"
The guard captain got from the second floor of the adventurer's guild and said hurriedly: "Sir, please calm down. We can talk it over and the adventurer's guild will compensate you for the inconvenience you experienced here. Can you explain what happened?"
Max looked at the guard captain and saw that he was a level two knight apprentice from his appraisal skill. That was relatively good for this town in this low-level country. He still wanted to vent some of his frustration, so he said: "Alright. I want you to try and fight me. They did not believe me, so I want you to see my knight skills and write me this ID card and let me out of this shithole. I'm not going to go hard on you so don't worry. This is my condition. Also, if I win you and your guards will have to use my gaming club for one hour. It is 10 silver coins for each and every one of you. Do you understand? This will be your compensation if I win. I will not use magic at all."
After Max said that he cancelled the fireball waited for an answer. The guard captain sighed in relief and said: "Alright then. I agree. Do you need a weapon? I can ask one of my men to lend you one. Let's go to the testing field."
Max laughed and said: "There is no need for a weapon. This will do."
He took a broom and disconnected the wood stick from it. He did not really needed it, but he was here to relax for a little. He already earned his first costumers. He was even considered letting Derek try and fight the guard captain. He thought that it should be a close match. First, he wanted to humble those guys further so they will not think that they know some knight skill when they fight and move like people with disabilities.
The guard's captain frowned but did not say anything. He could not let this guy destroy the adventurer guild. His superiors will skin him alive after that. It was not a joke. He could really take responsibility with his head flying of his head in case of anything major happening.
The guard's captain name was Alex. He was a man in his late thirties or early forties. He was an average looking man with 1.75m meter height, with black hair and brown eyes. He worked hard all his life and got to this rank of guard's captain recently. He did not think that such a strong mage could appear. He was sure that he could not be a good mele fighter. He was planning to go easy on this guy and conclude the misunderstanding that happened. He was pretty sure that the attendant was at fault as well.
They both exited the adventurer's guild and went into the fighting arena that was designated for testing adventurers that had the potential to promote to the next level. Max and the Alex stood in the arena. Many people that ran of the guild in the beginning saw that the crazy stranger was going to fight the guard's captain and they hurried to watch the show. Not every day you could see a guard's captain fight. It was rare sight in those places.
"I'm ready whenever you are. You can attack." Max said. He did not expect much.
Alex charged at Max and was ready to face him head on. He wanted this unknown man to pay his respect to him. He was sure that this man did not have strong knight skills. Derek was also looking from aside. He could tell that this guy was stronger than the bandit he fought before. He was not sure if he could win the guard captain.
Max smiled and screamed for the crowd: "Derek is this your brother-in-law or something? You IQ match. Oh my god. What a joke. Look what a real knight is capable of."
After that Max used the invisibility skill and started using the shadow step skill and hit Alex all over his body. He would appear for a moment, smack Alex with the wooden stick in the face, back, abdomen and other places until the knight captain fell. The crowd was shocked. They did not expect this guy to be that strong. Some of the people surrounding the arena were connected to the local noble families and they were happy being in the right place at the right time. They went to report to their families about what happened here. Such a strong person was not something those nobles could provoke. Max did not know that the name of "Mad Max" was going to spread far in the country and the empire in the years to come.
