Capítulo 3: Mundane
Auriel tried to reach the ability of the original Auriel who made people into puppets. But for some reason, he couldn't find it. He knew the power system of this world and how it was working. So, it was strange.
Everyone from babies up to 16 years old has a chance to be a Candidate. Candidates are people who have mystical symbols on their foreheads, which define the potential of their abilities and powers, and if they can awaken their potential, these symbols would vanish from their foreheads and the candidates gain mysterious abilities and strong bodies.
The Candidates who awaken their potential are called Awakened, and Awakened people can use their powers like an instinct.
So, this meant that Auriel wasn't Awakened but a normal human, it seemed impossible for Auriel, who had seen the original puppeteer Auriel and his puppets.
'Maybe the original was someone who couldn't awaken his potential and stayed a candidate to this age?' Auriel thought and opened the curtains.
After that, he went to the mirror and looked at his fat reflection. His face was plump because of the fat but he could see that the original Auriel could be handsome if he looked after himself. Unfortunately, he didn't and just became an idiot young master. But Auriel wasn't looking at his reflection to how handsome he was going to be after losing weight. He was looking at his forehead to see if there was a mystical symbol on it. Though his face contorted after seeing no symbol on his forehead.
"What!?"
Auriel's mind was in turmoil. He was the one who saw the fight between the original Auriel and Silas. This was his job for years as he watched the people and narrated their stories as if he read from a book.
And that is why he was confused because he didn't have any ability and wasn't a Candidate either at the age of 17. It was simply impossible for him to be a Candidate at this age, let alone Awakened, Master, or Grandmaster.
While he was lost in thought, the door of his room opened and he sharply turned towards it, only to see Daisy who was shivering because of the bloodshot eyes of Auriel, which was directed at her.
Auriel sighed and took a deep breath after seeing the scared maid, calming himself down.
"Leave them here and get out."
Daisy left the papers and pen she brought and got out of the room again with trembling steps.
Auriel took deep breaths to calm his mind and heart, which worked almost immediately. He was already a calm person after being the narrator of the Gods for some years. However, he just lost his composure after learning the fact that he didn't have any power to defend himself in this world where people killed like weeds.
But after recovering himself, he remembered a particular rumor about the Macien Kingdom.
While he narrated the journey of Silas, he heard some rumors that the Macien Kingdom had found a way to make people a Candidate with no chance to fail and this was the reason the Macien Kingdom became more powerful in recent years.
'Was that rumor true?' He asked himself, then nodded slightly.
'It has to be or else the original Auriel wouldn't be a puppeteer, just be a mundane villain who uses only his status instead of his powers. But how can I get that method to make me a Candidate? I don't even know the exact method and don't have the memories of the original Auriel, so I can't act like him to ask around.' Auriel thought and took the paper and pen.
Then he began to write down all of the journeys of Silas he witnessed.
It would be better if he watched the story of Silas entirely but he just watched the part where Silas was beating the original Auriel, which happened 7 years later. So, he knew only 7 years of the future, which wasn't that much.
Anyway, Silas was the bastard prince of the Dalinnor Kingdom, the 2nd strongest kingdom of the continent which was also hostile towards the Macien Kingdom because of religious issues.
But even though the Dalinnor kingdom and Macien kingdom are hostile to each other, they were going to sign a peace treaty 2 years later, because of the huge gate that opened in their borders, and a year after the peace treaty, they will begin to cooperate to get rid of the huge gate that constantly letting out disgusting fiends.
Normally, random gate openings are considered a normal occurrence. However this particular gate was too much for the kingdoms to handle themselves while being constantly at war, that is the reason they began to cooperate.
And clearing these monsters that came out from that huge gate and the gate itself was continued in the time while the original Auriel was receiving a beating from Silas.
So, the former narrator didn't know too much about what was going to happen in the future as it was just 7 years.
But he knew the standards of the world and normal things, so living wasn't going to be hard.
And he thought that he would get a chance to become a Candidate if he waited for a while. Because if the Macien kingdom really found a way to make people a Candidate, then Duke Weaver, who was the father of his current body and one of the highest nobles of the kingdom would definitely know it.
So, why did he decide to wait?
Well, he simply decided to not risk being found out by Duke Weaver after not acting like the original Auriel.
He didn't want to act like a lecherous bastard who forces himself on women and makes other people's lives hell.
And he needed to lose some weight and change his public image slowly without causing suspicion.
And after all this, he was going to Duke Weaver's side without any hesitation and would demand the way to become a Candidate.
Though first, he needed to eat his breakfast before it became too cold and recall the common sense of this world.
