Aleix's POV
After contemplating about the oddity of Yennifer being dead in this world and yet somehow being alive in the novel, I decided to give up on that.
Why? Because even if this world is similar to the novel, it's likely not to be the exact same. And even if there are answers to be had, I most likely wouldn't be able to get them now.
So instead of doing something so unproductive, I decided to head to the Morningstar training grounds.
I was currently heading there now. As I descended to the ground floor, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the kitchen.
The staff moved quietly, preparing for the day ahead. I nodded to them, receiving courteous smiles in return.
Yes. Courteous, because regardless of how I (Lucas) normally act, am still the son of a duke. Though I could tell they didn't like me. Fair. Considering I had harassed a large number of them.
"Good morning Young Master". A sweet voice cut through the air. Well I guess not all of them hate me.
Turning towards a young looking lady with red hair and red eyes who looked to be in her mid teens, I replied with a light smile.
"Good morning Aisha." Aisha. She was the red hair chick that I woke up next to when I first got here.
According to my memories, Aisha was one of the only maids in the mansion that didn't hate Lucas' guts.
She was an orphan my mother brought to the mansion at the age of 10. She was three years older than me.
I remember that she became my maid not long after mother brought her in. We were close. She was like an elder sister to Lucas and Silas.
Even when everyone treated Lucas differently after his awakening and his mother's funeral, she didn't. She stuck by him.
I don't understand this girl. Even with all Lucas did to her. He even forced himself on her and yet she doesn't hate him. She even lets him do it. Why?
It doesn't matter anymore. I'll stop whatever arrangement Lucas had with her. But for now I need to head to the training grounds.
Thinking so I waved lightly at Aisha before heading towards the door.
Outside, the morning air was crisp, carrying the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass. The estate's grounds stretched before me, a tranquil oasis within the bustling city.
My destination was the Morningstar training grounds, nestled within the estate's sprawling grounds.
***********
As I stepped into the training grounds, the crunch of gravel beneath my boots echoed through the expansive courtyard.
The Morningstar estates facilities were known for producing some of the strongest warriors in not just the empire but the entire continent.
It was weird being here. Mainly cuz it feels like I've always known this place and yet it feels foreign at the same time.
The grounds stretched before me, a sprawling expanse of meticulously manicured lawns, obstacle courses, and combat arenas.
Impressive. But I guess to be expected of House Morningstar, a military house.
Looking around I saw different knights of the household training. The clashing of steel and grunts of exertion filling the air. But I was yet to find the person I was looking fo-.
Oh found him.
I started moving toward the man in the middle of the training grounds.
"Good morning, Captain Reinhardt." I greeted the man with snow white hair like my father and black eyes.
The man slowly turned to look at me, and upon seeing it was me, looked a bit surprised.
"Good morning, Lucas." He responded slowly as if unsure what I was doing here.
"And what are you doing here, pray tell." He asked.
"I'm here to do some training of course." I responded in a matter of factly manner.
"WHAT!" This time, he didn't even bother trying to hide his surprise. This time everyone on the training grounds turned to look at us.
Those who heard us showing equal looks of surprise as Captain Reinhardt.
And it's not like I can really blame them. After all according to my memories it's been almost two years since I last trained. So it's a given that they were shocked.
"Huuuu. Ok, so why did you come to meet me specifically." He asked.
I then gave a smile and responded "Cause I want you to teach me swordsmanship".
"I see." His facial expression had gone back to being stoic. "Very well".
He then turned around and spoke "Follow me."
As he was moving, I activated my appraisal skill on him and oh boy let's just say he's as strong as the novel said he was.
