Capítulo 405: True strength

Before becoming the president of Suirui Electronics, Hayakawa Uejito had actually given up on direct competition with Takayuki.

On one hand, the funds allocated within the company were limited, so his actions were actually restricted. Coupled with the fact that Gamestar Entertainment was truly formidable, being unrivaled in the electronic gaming industry, he decided to prepare to follow behind Gamestar Entertainment for a long time and ride on their success.

However, when he finally became the president of Suirui Electronics, suddenly the resources at his disposal increased tenfold.

All departments could now operate according to his plans.

Even though there were constraints from the board of directors, he could still be willful a few times; it was a privilege of being a president.

Shareholders pursued stability and wouldn't easily take risks, which gradually slowed down the development of the otherwise thriving company, no longer as aggressive as before.

Upon taking office, Hayakawa Uejito's first action was to conduct a thorough evaluation and integration of many departments within the company.

Then, he formulated a new development plan, aiming to open up a brand new market through the electronic gaming industry.

To be honest, Suirui Electronics should have been much stronger than Gamestar Entertainment.

But due to past factional struggles and his relatively low position at the time, he couldn't give it his all.

But now things were different.

In the new development plan, the first thing he did was to reallocate seventy percent of the employees from the company's semiconductor research and development department to the new gaming division.

With a research and development team of nearly five hundred people, including top semiconductor talents from top universities like the University of Tokyo and even some from renowned universities in the United States, if they put in their full effort, creating an excellent gaming console would be no problem.

Even though Hayakawa Uejito might lack foresight and was inevitably bound to take some detours, as long as he dared to explore, Suirui Electronics wouldn't lag behind Gamestar Entertainment in terms of scientific and technological advancements.

Gamestar Entertainment's game consoles merely used existing mature technologies.

But Suirui Electronics possessed multiple world-class technology patents, and many advanced technologies hadn't even been showcased yet.

And this Future Encounter was the moment to showcase their capabilities to the world.

During the event, Hayakawa Uejito personally presided over it, completely emulating the format of Takayuki's face-to-face meetings.

The weight of the event was significantly different with the president personally hosting it.

Firstly, under his presentation, the new generation home Suirui Electronics game console, the PNF Home Gaming Console, made its debut.

PN was the standard code given by Suirui Electronics to its game consoles, with F representing "future".

The implication was clearly to fight for the future.

Moreover, this time Hayakawa Uejito understood that what ultimately attracted players was the games themselves, not just the performance of the gaming console.

So, after roughly showcasing the design of the gaming console, he didn't bother to explain its performance but directly played a promotional video.

Leading the way was Suirui Electronics' flagship series, the Solar Knight series.

This series had truly experienced many twists and turns from its inception to now.

From initially having few players who liked it, to now having millions of fans, it wasn't easy.

In comparison, on Gamestar Entertainment's side, both the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, the two largest RPG IPs, had millions in sales from the first generation alone, and each subsequent generation maintained sales of three to four million units.

Among them, the most terrifying was undoubtedly Final Fantasy 7.

From its release to now, sales had almost reached tens of millions.

In comparison, the Solar Knight series was much weaker.

But regardless, the Solar Knight series had firmly established itself in the gaming community. At least each installment could ensure that it wouldn't incur losses, which was enough to motivate Hayakawa Uejito to continue producing them.

And this generation of Solar Knights also had a new slogan: "For the Future".

The game's full name was Solar Knight: War of the Future.

In the promotional video, the Solar Knight crossed over to a future world through some kind of magical portal.

In this future world, which was originally a world of science and technology, suddenly magic, monsters, various dragons, and terrifying creatures appeared.

And the Solar Knight, who was familiar with all of this, could quickly defeat every monster upon arriving in this future world faster than the people of the future. This immersive experience immediately struck a chord.

After several installments, the Solar Knight had gradually become deeply ingrained in people's hearts. When players played this game, they would naturally immerse themselves in the world of the Solar Knight and become fascinated by its wonderful worldview.

And more surprisingly, this edition of the Solar Knight was truly made with full 3D graphics.

This 3D graphics-made Solar Knight was everywhere, a testament to the maturity of game engines.

This edition of the Solar Knight used a standard over-the-shoulder third-person perspective typical of 3D games.

Because of the textbook-level 3D camera adjustment methods pioneered by Super Mario 64, it truly pointed the way for all game developers.

This edition of the Solar Knight built on this foundation and made its own optimizations and improvements.

And most importantly, this game also boasted graphics that were quite outstanding for this era.

This level of graphic performance was at least between that of the PS2 and PS3, coupled with the exquisite production of game CGs. Solely in terms of graphics, there really was no competitor.

Hayakawa Uejito directly announced that this game would be released simultaneously with the PNF gaming console and would be promoted as the flagship game for launch.

To produce this game, Hayakawa Uejito mobilized multiple in-house departments, including the special effects development team of the Detroit Film Group and several imaging departments within the company, to collaborate on producing CG animations for this game.

And the total investment in this game reached over 140 million US dollars.

This also made it the second super-large-scale game in the world with an initial investment exceeding one hundred million.

The manpower alone involved over a thousand people, covering various fields and aspects.

From this, it can be seen that Hayakawa Uejito was really going all out, and he really wanted to turn things around.

With capital in hand and technology at his disposal, his ambitions began to expand rapidly, even imagining things that he hadn't dared to think about in the past.

And this was just a game; afterward, Hayakawa Uejito personally demonstrated several different types of games.

There were racing games and sports games, among which the most dazzling were those with very exquisite game graphics.

For humans, who are visual creatures, this impact was quite significant.

And this was the true strength of Suirui Electronics.
