Capítulo 10: Deal? (9)

Grace

I walked to the door and exhaled a deep breath. I opened it to a slit and tried to take a glimpse of the man, more like a boy pacing there. When I saw that it was, actually Jake, confirming my suspicion, I clutched the top across my heart. It took more courage than I expected. I looked up and saw he had stopped pacing. He raised his one finger and gestured to me to come out of the room.

“Out.” He said like he did prior to the night incident. No bullshit, straight to the point order. I opened the door and stepped in. He tilted his head to a side and gave me a once over. His eyes went from my eyes to toe then back to my eyes.

“Hmm. I must say I wasn't expecting this. So… You work here?” He moved his eyes around the room.

“And as a sex worker?” I looked down from those judgy eyes. Shame hitting me to a next degree.

“Why did you change that sexy lingerie? You were looking good.” Then he roared into laughter like he found the most amusing joke in the world. This situation was frustrating and humiliating. I was on the weak side, and he was on the advantage one. I steeled myself and looked him coldly in the eyes.

“Lousy idiots like you don't deserve to see me in lingerie. What the hell are you here for?” I asked. He stopped laughing and looked at me with a glint of mischievousness.

“Do I need to spell that out? I thought you knew what I was here for.” Does that mean he knew that it was me who was going to work for him? I decided to just straight up ask him straight.

“So you need my service? I thought you hated even the idea of me. I didn't know you secretly desired me. You went to the extent of calling and booking me for an hour.” I chuckled and made my best mocking face.

“And with that pathetic, pleading of yours.” His face became angry. I keep on going.

“'Please… I need it. I would even pay you in advance. Make some time for me in your busy schedule'.” I mimicked, what I thought was his voice on the phone earlier.

He looked surprised which confused me even more.

“That didn't sound like you though.” I said slowly, almost to myself. Was it or someone else? Did someone else know about it?

“You're right. That was me. I had to convince you somehow to meet me.” He confirmed. He fixed me with a stare.

“Why do you work here?” He asked. I narrowed my eyes at him.

“That's none of your business.” I snapped at him through my clenched teeth. He had no right to ask anything about me.

“Well, It's already my business now. No one knows about your profession? Do they? And if that's the case that means I have the upper hand here. I wonder how thrilled people will be when they know that you're a prostitute.” My strong demeanor crumbled. He had hit the nail right in the center. I can't let anyone know about my job. My already broken life will be destroyed.

I had to complete my studies and get out of this mess. What would happen if anyone in college would find out. It will impact not just my social life but also my scholarship. Who knows, maybe it will be taken away in the name of spreading wrong messages to their young female students. My eyes filled with unshed tears, my vision blurred. I looked at him and saw him flinch, just slightly.

“What the hell do you want? What have I ever done to you for you to behave like this?” I whisper yelled at him.

“You threw your coffee at me. Remember?” He growled back at me. I was taken aback. He was taking revenge on that?

“But you started it. You forcibly tried to kiss me, remember. I just wanted to be left alone.” God seriously. That's all I wanted my whole life. To be left alone, in peace. Every presence in my life has only caused pain to me. I'm not asking for a nice company, I am just asking to be left alone.

“Prostitute. A whore is what you are. Your work is fuck men on their command and you ruined my reputation for a kiss. A kiss? For a person who fuck random people, you surely have high standard. A kiss would have brought you the peace to stay in college, in fact it would have only brought you good opportunities. Yet, you decided that you were too good for that.” No one in my life had made me feel this cheap. It pierced through the core of my heart.

“Yes, I'm a whore. A prostitute. A slut. Or whatever you want to call me but even a whore like me have rules. I carry some dignity that people think I don't.” I pointed an accusing finger at him.

“You said it, you asked for a single kiss. What was a big deal was with it for a woman who fuck random men?” My cheeks became wet with tears. They were flowing freely without trouble, trying to embarrass me more but I couldn't care less.

“Well, first you did not pay me for a kiss. The men I fuck, they do. I wasn't working at that moment and hell, I'm not obliged to kiss you. I choose the men I fuck. And they give me more respect than what you do.” I said.

“They pay you? I also paid for your services so how about you work for it?” He retorted. He started walking towards me, making me stumble and back away from him. He was angry for sure, but he also looked determined for something else. Something I liked to avoid. I kept on walking backwards, and I was just about to turn and head into the bathroom when I was slammed against the wall. A sharp gasp left my mouth. He had his hands on my arms, but he slowly and rhythmically pulled away, feeling my arms, and put them on both sides of my face. He brought his face so close that our noses were almost touching. His breath was deep, warm and hard on my face. We both stared into each other's eyes for how long, I didn't even know. His eyes changed color and darkened a bit. My body stiffened. He looked at my eyes then his eyes drifted down to my lips. He leaned down and I closed my eyes. I felt him nearing my lips and reflexively, I turned my head. His lips ended on my cheek. I felt him smile. Instead of taking away his face he moved his mouth to my ear and whispered

“Let's make a deal.” With that he moved his face to my cheek and kissed it sweetly, surprising me. It sent a shiver down my spine, making me shudder. I opened my eyes and looked at him moving away from me. I didn't realize it before, but I was shaking. I became red instantly thinking about the effect his kiss on my cheek had on me. I looked at him to find him smirking, knowingly. I looked down in shame when I realized he noticed my blush. I reminded myself how he insulted me just a few minutes ago. A whore. Fuck him.

I snapped out of my trance when I realized what he spoke. 'Let's make a deal?' he said. A deal?

“What deal?” I was so focused on our proximity that I wasn't even sure he said it or not. I need to keep my distance if I want to keep my mind on track.

“As far as I know, you would not want this information to go out. I wouldn't if I were you.” I clenched my fist.

“Cut to the chase. Get straight to the point.” I snapped. He smiled, a genuine smile.

“Not so patient, are you? Fine. You want your work to stay hidden, so I want something in return for my silence.” He sighed.

“Be my girlfriend.” He said softly but coldly.

“What?!”
