Chapter 22 — Tales of Sidonia's Mysteries.
Day 102.
SDF Academy | 9:00 PM.
In SDF Academy, Jason was using the Virtual Training Room to train, as Mr. Alien wasn't done modifying the Virtual Training Room back at home.
While slowly improving his pilot sense and techniques, Jason was also practicing to familiarize himself on using Thought Acceleration.
Just like what the name implies, Thought Acceleration amplifies Jason's though-processing speed. It can allow him to process information at incredible speeds, allowing him to analyze and come to conclusions at an unprecedented rate. The acceleration varies from a few hundred times to million of times depending on the individual's physical body realm. But currently, Jason can only accelerate his thoughts by 20 times.
Three times...
Five times....
Jason used Thought Acceleration consecutively, trying to know the number of times he can exactly use the full power version of the Thought Acceleration(20x).
Drip...!

Jason soon left the Virtual Training Room while holding his nose which was profusely bleeding. He never expected to see himself bleeding again since he after all possessed an evolved superhuman body. Thought Acceleration really placed a huge amount of stress on the brain.
He can only this ability to its full power for five times consecutively. However, it was because his current body was still sealed. His real unsealed body was extremely powerful, and it was still evolving slowly even now.
It made Jason worried that he might not be able to perfectly control his always growing physical body.
Shaking his head, Jason went to the clinic to rest his utterly exhausted body and mind. It was also a good idea to clean and treat his nosebleed.
"Excuse me! Can I sleep in the clinic to rest for some period of time?" Jason asked while still covering his nose dripping with blood, but it was less compared to before. His powerful healing ability was taking effect, but it was impossible to also effect his exhausted mind.
Jason just arrived inside the clinic, but was stunned to see the nurse who turned toward him after hearing his question.
It was Kobayashi!
What was more baffling was her donning a tight and revealing white nurse outfit. Her white mask was also gone, replaced by a black-rimmed glasses that made her look sharp and witty.
"Commander...?" Jason mumbled while appearing very stunned.
He never once expected in his entire lifetime to see the serious and cool Kobayashi looking like this.
Kobayashi didn't looked fazed when meeting with Jason's gaze. She just pressed her finger against his lips, gesturing him to remain silent.
Jason nodded as a result, Kobayashi slowly backing away as she realize his nose was currently bleeding.
Meanwhile, his analytical eyes swept over the tight nurse outfit that accentuated her very sexy curves, making her look many times erotic and beautiful than usual. Her snow-like thighs were also clearly visible, looking firm yet plump.
This strange sight caused Jason's heart to beat slightly faster, causing him to think that maybe aside from his robot fetish, he also have a nurse fetish.
He soon shook his head to get rid of those ridiculous thoughts.
Nay, it was nothing more than just his body's natural reaction, and something he quickly supressed with reasons.
Kobayashi first instructed Jason to sit on the bed, quickly starting to treat the bleeding nose.
While she was gently treating him, Jason was curious to know why Kobayashi was acting as a simple nurse here.
"Commander, why are you...!?" Jason could not finish his words, Kobayashi's slender finger pressing against his lips again.
"Please don't refer to me as the commander during my undercover job. Just call me by my own name."
Jason nodded his head, but he slightly found it awkward to use her real name.
"Kobayashi, why are you doing an undercover job as a nurse here?"
"It's nothing significant. Many people don't really know my face behind the mask, so I find pleasure by blending in with the normal crews. This is only a few of my enjoyment."
"That's quite surprising...." Jason didn't expected Kobayashi to also have a playful side. He then wondered what she meant when she said those last words? Does she rarely enjoy her life?
He didn't know the answer, and prying too much might make him look too rude.
Kobayashi soon finished treating Jason. She instructed him to sleep and rest for a long time to completely recover. He was overworking himself too much. It wasn't healthy.
Jason agreed obediently. He rested on the bed, wondering why he was now working so hard.
It might be due to his innate desire to survive in this strange futuristic reality.
Or maybe him wanting to protect the people he met ever since his awakening.
Nonetheless, Jason wanted to survive and not killed by the countless dangers lurking everywhere.
To achieve that, he would do anything that was possible while still not breaching his own morals and reasons.
The moment he defied it, Jason didn't know what will happen.
"Kobayashi, do you perhaps know of a good place to rest? Preferably a place good for vacation while also having a hot spring."
"Gravity Inn. A nice place that I also go to when working undercover sometimes."
"I see, I will try to head there tomorrow then," Jason nodded while noting the Gravity Inn inside his mind.
After closing his eyes, Jason soon fell into a deep peaceful sleep.
Kobayashi looked at him sleeping so peacefully.
She soon covered his body with a warm and soft blanket.

Gravity Inn | 10:00 AM.
Late in the morning, Jason soon reached the placed called Gravity Inn which was built near the residential tower. He looked at the Inn, quickly making a strange face.
The Gravity Inn looked slightly messy and oldish.
Jason then remembered the phrase never judge a book by its cover. He thought the Inn might be an example of that.
He was about to enter the Inn, but then heard noises behind him.
He looked back, quickly seeing a group of people also coming. They were Hoshijiro, Nagate, Izana, and Yuhata.
Jason realized that Nagate seemed to possess great charm like he was some kind of standard protagonist.
He was always surrounded by girls, except for Izana who still haven't chosen a gender yet. However, looking at the current situation, it seemed choosing a gender wouldn't take that long enough.
The four of them soon noticed Jason and were quite surprised, not expecting to meet Jason here.
"What are you guys doing here?" Jason asked interestedly.
"We're currently on a vacation," Nagate replied simply while looking at Jason with hints of admiration.
"We came here after hearing that this place was nice from Yuhata," Hoshijiro followed after Nagate.
Jason nodded in understanding. "I didn't expect you to know Yuhata."
"I met them due to my brother and since then we all got along!" Yuhata replied while looking at him with sparkling eyes.
"I see..." Jason laughed awkwardly after seeing her sparkling eyes that were extremely bright.
The pressure was too heavy.
"How about you? What are your doing here?" Izana asked curiously.
"Ah, the same with you guys, but I heard about this place from the captain," Jason while smiling widely. "Oh right, we should get inside quickly."
They nodded immediately and followed Jason inside the Gravity Inn.
All of them soon encountered a beautiful woman who was named as Tanaka.
Jason knew she was secretly Kobayashi, but he must admit the commander also looked good while wearing a kimono.
He also noticed Nagate looking surprised after seeing Kobayashi.
Jason didn't expected him to also know about Kobayashi's true face.
Nagate wasn't definitely simple.
"Wow! We're overlooking the entire base lake!" Izana muttered amazedly while looking outside through the window.
Outside, you could see the vast expanse of water body.
"You haven't seen everything yet. Nearby, there's more great places," Yuhata said while wearing a secretive grin.
"Huh? What is it?" Izana asked very curiously.
"Hehe, you'll see later..."
Yuhata then gathered all of them inside one room, and took out a book for everyone to see.
"Tales Of Sidonia's Mysteries...?" Jason looked toward Yuhata, wanting her to explain more about the book.
The others besides him also expressed the same expression.
"This is a book that introduce you to the many mysteries of Sidonia. Try checking page 139."
Jason took the book, and slowly started reading page 139 aloud for them to also hear.
"Sidonia Year 904. At the end of the Fourth Gauna Defensive War, one of the highest ranking crew member was executed by the council. The man is known as Ochiai, you can't count the stories of his unparalleled evil deeds..."
Jason stopped reading for a moment after the name Ochiai was mentioned. Isn't Ochiai the assistant of Kobayashi? How was he still alive if he was executed in the past?
He then thought if the assistant was a clone or something...
Jason continued reading.
"In his private laboratory, Ochiai was dissecting the captured humanoid-shaped placenta as usual. Inside it, he found an organ that strangely looked like a human womb. He performed some explicit test with it. Which ultimately led to a ban against all experiments with placenta on Sidonia."
Jason wondered what kind of explicit test did the man known as Ochiai did with the humanoid-shaped placenta. However, his crimson eye soon turned frigid, even causing the others to feel slightly afraid.
"...Amongst Ochiai's experiment, the most terrifying and most savage one is said to be a Chimera Monster. A monster born after the direct insertion of the penis and human sperms into the humanoid-shaped placenta's womb..." Jason clenched the book, his crimson eye glowing coldly.
Mr. Alien's complicated emotions were forcefully transmitted toward Jason.
A Chimera Monster made out of Human and Gauna.
Infusion of the human sperms into the humanoid-shaped placenta's womb.
It was the most disgusting thing he had ever heard in his life.
To think a scientist would create such an abomination... It was a blasphemy to the entire human race.
Ochiai really deserved of having the achievement of creating countless unparalleled evil deeds.
The others sensed Jason's emotions and quickly tried to calm him down.
"...That's enough reading!" Yuhata quickly took the book away from him. She didn't expected Jason to show such a strong reaction after reading that part.
Jason soon calmed down and quickly apologized to them. In truth, the immense anger came from Mr. Alien itself.
"Is there any research facility of Ochiai that still exist within Sidonia?" Jason asked curiously. He hoped that Ochiai's legacy to create Chimera Monster was already destroyed.
All of the Gauna Race contained the instinct from the Gauna Emperor to destroy every parasites to exist. Whether Chimera or not, they were extremely dangerous existance even if they first appeared harmless.
Later on, it might lose it human reasons, and get consumed by its own Instincts.
"Yes, some says his research facility still exist somewhere. According to Sidonia's old map, there's a place that looks like a facility at the bottom of the base lake. It can only be access using the Terminal," Yuhata explained toward them.
"Do you know how to go there?"
"Only high-ranking members can access Terminal. However, I have the key to It!" Yuhata said smugly while not saying she got it without permission, though.
"I know you got it without permission, but anyways, let's go there!" Jason was very interested to see what they will find below the lake base.
However, it might just be some normal research facility. Ochiai's private laboratory might be somewhere else. He will have to find it on his own.
Jason was determined to search for every trace of Ochiai.
Meanwhile, Yuhata looked stunned to get found out so suddenly....
Jason and the others soon left the Gravity Inn, completely forgetting about the fact they were supposed to be on a vacation.
Seeing that, Kobayashi released a sigh.
