A sense of crisis invaded Airon's body, but there was no expression of fear on his face, what there was was a big smile. Raising his rifle slightly, Airon pulled the trigger and from the muzzle of the barrel of his M4 a bullet headed for the head of that walker that had been resurrected.
"Bang!"
The walker's head was pierced by the bullet, part of its skull and dark blood stained the back of the bed. Showing no emotion, Airon turned around.
"Zz... Elias, I need you to give me an escape route and call for backup."
However, just as he waited for answers, Jon's agitated voice was heard from the other side of the tent. "Sir, you need to look at this..."
As he came out, the first thing he saw was his group in a circular formation. They all had their weapons raised and a nervous expression could be seen on their faces. As Airon turned his head to the side, he looked at the walkers standing in the distance, looking at them with that dead expression on their faces.
Before long, all the corpses outside this shelter had risen from the ground and slowly surrounded Airon's group. But most surprisingly, none of these walkers were moving, as if something or someone was controlling them.
Airon, from what he had seen, knew that these walkers were not acting under the control of basic instinct like the others. What had seemed like a common pathogen, had become something that didn't matter.
"Combat formation!"
As Airon's words rang out, everyone moved and covered angles where attacks might come. This time he was very puzzled,
"Keep your masks on, we don't know what's going on with these walkers but this is beyond our comprehension!"
Although they didn't know why the walkers stopped moving, they were in a situation with unknown anomalies, so they needed to get out of this place before they understood the overall situation.
"Boom!"
With a flash, the head of a motionless walker exploded into pieces and this was like a catalyst for everyone to start running towards Airon's group.
"Fire!"
It didn't take the reminder for the others to start shooting at these corpses, the truth was abnormal and their movements seemed much stronger than any other walker.
"Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!"
With a deafening roar, bullets shot out of the barrels of the various rifles, whizzing towards the walkers at a speed indescribable to the naked eye.
The walkers were spurred on by the noise of the silenced bullets, some began to move much faster and in no time they were advancing towards Airon's group in the middle of camp.
However, no matter how fast these walkers could move, there was a limit they could not cross and this greatly helped Airon and his group to eliminate these abnormal walkers.
With the added negative benefit to the body, the movement of the shifters is a bit slow compared to bullets, and consequently a bullet passed directly between the arms he was trying to lift towards one of the men in the group and pierced his head.
A large puncture hole suddenly appeared in this walker's head, and the blood next to the bullet-destroyed brain looked like there was a new breathing hole.
There were no screams, and when Airon's group ran out, he only heard a muffled sound of falling to the ground from behind.
"Alert!"
"Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!"
"Reloading!"
Airon right now looked like a killing machine, his movements were fast and accurate, he cared about nothing but eliminating all these abnormal walkers and finding out what was causing all this trouble.
"Argh!"
The walkers were numerous, some were coming out from different sides but at this point you could tell that the formation of Airon's group was perfect. They were all taking cover and moving slowly down a particular path to get out of this place.
"Keep moving in that direction!"
The group kept moving forward, getting closer and closer to the infected people who were rapidly advancing towards their direction, and they could even hear the screams of shock from the abnormal walkers up ahead.
"Click!"
Airon's rifle clicked indicating that he had run out of bullets in the magazine, so he immediately tried to change his magazine but just as he was about to raise the muzzle again a black figure walked past him.
When Airon sensed danger approaching his body, he lowered the rifle and pulled out a knife. Tilting his body slightly to the side, he charged towards the figure and when he could see what kind of walker had sneaked past him, he looked at a completely different figure.
"A mutant walker..."
These seconds of distraction were enough for the infected to smirk at Airon and throw him to the side. The strong force that pushed it sent Airon flying to the side without him being able to do anything, this thing was definitely not a normal walker.
"Boss!"
Seeing how Airon went flying, George, who was the closest one moved and shot that infected with a gun, but the most surprising thing is that this figure moved quickly avoiding the bullets to reach towards his head.
"Squeak-!"
The sound follower, who was hit by an unknown object, shouted sharply and waved his hands frantically, causing the group of walkers to move towards his direction.
"Bang Bang Bang!"
"Don't come towards me, I'm fine! Quick, get out of this place!"
"Chirp-!"
Following the muffled sound of the gun, which hit the heads of numerous infected, Airon moved his body and holding a gun along with a knife in his left hand moved with great flexibility and eliminated numerous walkers.
Airon could not worry about any person besides his own safety at this point, there were many walkers by his side and it only took one bite for him to not be able to continue living.
Of course, this didn't stop the abnormal walkers from continuing to attack him, but Airon moved very flexibly and dodged all the attacks.
"Roar!"
Before long, the walkers were piling up around where he was standing and these same walkers didn't keep coming out from all directions.
Suddenly, a walker came out from the top of a military tent. But fortunately, he reacted very quickly, shot twice and then stepped on the corpse, ran over it and reached the back of the tent.
After eliminating the last walkers, Airon felt a figure watching him from behind and turned around to look.
"So there you are again, I'll definitely take you to the lab for a thorough examination." Saying this, Airon took off his bulletproof vest and pulled a larger knife from his back.
"Come at me beast!"
"Roar!"
