Alabama, Birmingham City.
After Airon and his group found a destroyed community, there were large letters that said there was a letter inside the house.
Logan looked at those words with a slight impression and said, "Maybe the people in this place are still alive, if so it is possible that there is still the letter mentioned on the sign inside the building."
"Don't you think someone has taken the letter?" Negan asks something that was logical, after so long there should be someone who was interested in taking the letter.
Airon on his side was interested, if this is the case, he could find a community with people in this place before his people arrive with helicopters, it would be of great help and also if he manages to find someone from the Fireflies it would be a victory.
"Let's move on, it would be good to know if there is anything we discover." Airon said, making a decision.
"Yes, boss!"
The duo of armored vehicles drove straight into the destroyed community directly breaking through the ajar door. Although the gate was ajar, there were not many walkers inside the community, and the appearance of all the walkers were ordinary civilians, meaning that these people were killed in some way.
Leaving one team guarding the armored cars with two remaining in the turret at all times, the rest of the people entered the building along with Airon. After a few minutes, the group inside the building returned with a letter in their possession.
As soon as Airon had the letter in his hand, he casually opened it and read it aloud.
"To anyone reading this letter, our humanitarian community has moved west where we are assembling the remaining survivors at a new base. Anyone who wants a place of safety can travel in that direction and we will eventually meet up."
"Pretty risky..."
"Do you think they are still alive?"
"I don't know, there don't seem to be any dangerous groups of survivors in this part of the country, just the same you could check by helicopter."
"What are they talking about?" Logan looked at Airon's group a little suspiciously. He didn't know anything about what they were talking about, so he couldn't help but ask directly.
"Kid, you should know that outside there are some really bad people or even your grandfather's or uncle's group are cannibals, that's the fucking reality." Negan said, swinging his bat back and forth.
"That's impossible, I can't believe that there are people who would rather eat human flesh..." Logan couldn't believe it.
"Calm down, it doesn't matter if they're The Angels of Heaven or fucking idiots, we'll move cautiously and make our own judgments depending on what we discover."
Logan came to understand how Airon's group had been living in the last few days, they must have encountered bad people to then think this way.
"Airon, do you think you can take me to that place? I know it's a lot to ask, but I'd like to know if anyone in my family is still alive..."
Airon smiled indifferently and interrupted what he was about to say with a wave of his hand.
"All right, stop talking and let's get moving towards that place."
Loga nodded gratefully, reached out to hold Airon's hand and vigorously shook it up and down several times. Words could no longer express his current mood, so he could only thank him in this way.
But unbeknownst to Logan, this was his true purpose in traveling to this place. Taking Logan may even be a lot easier than they think.
The address written on the letter was not far from here. After a few minutes of driving down the road, they could see the intersection leading to the community in the distance. After turning at the intersection and driving for two minutes, they saw the outside of a simple community wall.
After calling to stop the car, Airon planned to observe the surrounding situation first. With the naked eye, it could be seen that the courtyard wall here had been raised a little, and only the roofs of the houses in the courtyard could be vaguely seen from the outside.
It was now noon and a faint pillar of smoke could be seen that might be coming from the kitchen in the courtyard outside.
"There are people, haha, they are really here."
"Boy, do you know people here?"
"Well, I know a few people, they should all be workers at the mall stores. I usually know a lot of workers since I visited very often, so I know them well."
"Then let's go down, and then you'll be in charge of knocking on the door." Daryl said with a cold expression.
...
The two Humvee-type armored vehicles slowly advanced in front of the community gate, and some people should have seen the movement outside their community, just by looking at the heads that popped up from time to time it was obvious.
The group of those people ranged from adults to young to old.
"Stop this instant! Strangers are not welcome in this place!" Shouted a man with short hair.
Logan, who had gotten out of the car, also looked around and found that he didn't know anyone, so he decided to approach for a dialogue.
To be a man you have to know how to be grateful, they have taken him to look for the community, and he can't let others take the risk just for him, he has to get out and talk to these people.
Logan arrived at the foot of the city wall with his hands raised, he raised his head and said in a loud voice. "Hello, I'm looking for someone, is the old Gale still alive?"
Seeing that the person who got out of the car was a young man without weapons, the old man outside the wall felt at ease.
"Who are you to the old Gale?"
"I am the nephew of his best friend."
Seeing this, the old man turned his head and looked to the side, as if talking to someone else, and after an exchange, turned away.
"Wait a minute, I have to ask the old ox to come and acknowledge him."
"Okay, I really appreciate it."
To meet someone familiar after a long time, Logan got excited again, turned his head to look at Airon in the armored car and raised his fist evidently happy.
Airon flashed a seemingly happy smile, not from knowing Logan was telling the truth, but from meeting the survivors and knowing they weren't so aggressive.
"Will there be 500 people in this place?"
Some other members of Airon's group also smiled somewhat sympathetically, holding their weapons without letting their guard down.
"Maybe a little over 600..."
"Those in the turrets be ready to fire at any time, do not turn off the cars' engines under any circumstances."
The people inside did not keep them waiting, after a few minutes an old man in a hat peeked over the community wall.
But at this moment, the old man's expression was extremely excited. As soon as he came out, he saw his best friend's nephew alive."
After checking that it was someone he knew, he stepped out of the wall gate and said in a trembling tone, "Damn kid, I thought you were dead."
"Old Gale, I'm back."
"Alright, alright, it's good to be alive, it's good that you're alive! "
The people inside seemed to be arguing about which old man was the nephew outside and when Logan realized this, he got a little nervous.
But just then, a couple of trucks came out from behind the convoy, and as the walker approached Logan drew his gun to fire with his shaking hands, but then he saw a man in a militant uniform jump out of the stout, black-skinned man, and with his big hands he crushed the walker's head.
Seeing this, the men in the heavy machine guns signaled to test their strength. When the black-skinned man who was T-dog saw other walkers, he approached and gave two heavy blows to the heads of those walkers and their heads were crushed.
The words trapped in Logan's throat finally came out, and all the words finally came down to one word.
"Fuck!"
"What an animal that T-dog!"
"Who are those people?"
Only now did the two men in the doorway react and turn their heads to look behind them blankly, just in time to see the man crush the walkers' heads with his boots.
"Are they military?"
