The professor who entered the room was a beautiful red-haired woman who appeared to be in her late 20s. She was wearing a black witch hat, a black long dress that hugged her body and finally, she was wearing red shoes. She was holding a broom that was as tall as her with her left hand and her Grimoire was floating in front of her.
It is a Grimoire that has a flame symbol at the front. She is a Flame Mage. To be qualified to become a professor in the magic academy of the 9 Regions, a mage should be at least on the middle circle level. So they should be at least a 4th Circle mage of any magic.
When it comes to the education and basic magic granted at magic academies, all of the 9 Regions are equal. All students learning from the 9 Regions always learn the 5 Basic Magic of Wood, Fire, Water, Metal, and Earth Magic with some exceptions.
The first case is if the said student is a child of a Tower Lord and has been granted access to non-basic magic. The 2nd case is if said student acquired the very rare magic talent of being a Void Mage.
However, another disparity from being a lower region citizen to an upper region citizen appears. Other than the age education requirement, Grimoire pages, lifespan, magic capacity, and the conveniences of their daily lives, a 9th Region Citizen can only have 1 Grimoire or learn only 1 magic.
If they wanted to learn new magic or acquire new magic, they needed to unlearn their former magic and abandon their former Grimoire for a new one that allowed them to develop or learn new magic.
Being a 5th Region Citizen, Rumpel is allowed to have 5 Grimoires. Being allowed to learn 5 magic at the same time doesn't mean that Rumpel would have it easy. Sometimes, learning 5 types of magic at the same would more or less become a hindrance to his status as a mage. It would be difficult for him to become a high circle mage if he would learn 5 types of magic at the same time.
" I'm Mildred, your professor for the basic magic lessons for a few lessons. "
If Professor Mildred is a citizen of the 7th Region, then Rumpel can expect that other than being a fire mage, she has access to at least one or two non-basic magic types.
" After the 3 basic magic lessons, you are all free to spend your remaining year here at the Alloces Academy. You can seek out the professors and seek an apprenticeship, visit the library, conduct experiments, mock battles with your fellow students or you can even just waste all of your days here and potential as a mage. The only requirement is that by the end of the year, everyone should have at least passed the hurdle to become a 2nd Circle mage. Being at least a 2nd Circle mage is a basic requirement for becoming a tower mage if you aspire to be one. 3 first circle spells and one 2nd Circle spell of the basic magic choice of your own were the requirement of a 2nd Circle mage. At the end of your term, there would be a demonstration of the 3 1st Circle spells and 1 2nd Circle spell with various Alloces Academy Professors observing your demonstration. "
In the front of various Alloces Academy Professors? Just imagining it gives Rumpel a sense of nausea. Looking at the other students, some of them weren't comfortable with the idea.
" Now that I have informed everyone of the requirements for graduating from the Alloces Academy, we shall conduct our first lesson, shall we? A lesson regarding the 5 Basic Elements their strengths and weaknesses. "
In the front of the classroom, there was a board. Tapping her broom, on it. An illustration of the 5 elements appeared.
"Based on this illustration, you can see that the 5 Basic Elements are connected. In this illustration, can anyone guess what is the strengths and weaknesses of the Fire Magic? "
Tabitha, Faust, Wagner, Gretchen, and the girl that he met yesterday raise their hands along with the other students. Glancing at the table, Rumpel was familiar with the illustration shown in front of them.
' It's Wu Xing, isn't it? This world has a different basic element than those regular fantasy novels. '
Usually, it's always the classic 4 elements. Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind.
" Yes, Mr Faust. "
" Fire is weak to water magic. The fire Magic is strong against wood magic. "
" Correct, Mr Faust. "
" Now, for the Metal Magic– "
Faust continued speaking explaining the metal magic.
" Metal is strong against Earth Magic. The Metal Magic is weak against water and fire. The reason that Metal Magic is weak against fire...."
Faust didn't just end up explaining fire Magic and metal magic but all of the 5 Basic magic elements. On the side, Rumpel could see Wagner and Gretchen wearing both an exasperated and fearful expression on their faces.
' He has a habit of talking continuously? '
Tabitha is looking worried for Faust and the green-haired girl is shooting an irritated look at Faust. Demetrius on the other hand has an amused expression on his face.
Eventually, Faust finishes speaking and explaining the 5 Basic Elements to them. Looking at Professor Mildred, he asked.
" Did I get all of the 5 Basic Elements correct, Professor? "
Smiling with a stormy expression on her face, Mildred responded.
" Yes, you are indeed correct Mr Faust. "
Behind her words, Rumpel could guess that there was a but following after those words.
" However, I didn't order you to continue your explanation, Mr Faust. You should have stopped at explaining the Fire Magic. "
Walking towards Faust's seat, Mildred pointed towards the door.
" Out! Never come back again for my basic magic lessons! "
Shrugging, Faust calmly walked towards the door unbothered that he was forbidden to attend basic magic lessons.
Once Faust exited the classroom, everyone could hear Professor Mildred muttering.
" I hate those types of people. Always bragging about their knowledge, aren't they? Since Mr. Faust has explained the 5 Basic magic. Let's now move on to our next lesson. By the end of this lesson, I want everyone to be able to cast their 1st Circle magic spell. "
