Hara and a small group of scientists had returned to the cave. Hara had called them together because she had seen some anomalies in Gam's last scan. She had discovered that she had accidently made a scan of Gam while they were leaving the mine.

The scan had shown a large spike in his limbic system [emotion and feeling part of the brain]. It shouldn't be a problem because Gam just saw Pahudo for the first time but the spike showed that Gam felt anger not amazement or happiness.
