Capítulo 31: Chapter 31: Immediate Revenge, The Fastest Elimination Record

Liu Peng's expression turned from smug to terrified, his mocking words stuck in his throat, unable to utter a single sound. Despite his previous confidence, from the moment Liam approached him, he had already begun channeling his energy, preparing for a possible confrontation. He had refused to shake Liam's hand not just to insult him but also to avoid any physical contact that might put him at a disadvantage.

But none of that mattered.

His body radiated a purple glow as he pushed his powers to the limit, desperately trying to fend off Liam's overwhelming icy energy. However, the more he struggled, the more horrified he became. No matter how much energy he poured into resisting, the ice continued to spread over his body with unrelenting determination, leaving no room for negotiation.

This was a difference in power at the fundamental level—a complete and utter domination.

But how could this be? Liu Peng's ability was rated A-level! How could he be so easily overpowered? Even if Liam had an S-level ability, this kind of disparity was unheard of.

"You!" Liu Peng gasped, looking into Liam's cold eyes, shouting in disbelief, "What level is your ability, really?"

"I'm E-level, just like everyone knows," Liam replied with a shrug, his right hand firmly gripping Liu Peng's, not budging an inch. No matter how much Liu Peng tried to push back with his energy, it disintegrated the moment it touched Liam.

Anger flared in Liu Peng's mind, but it quickly gave way to fear as he realized that if this continued, he would surely die. Panic-stricken, he began to flail desperately, kicking Liam with all his might using his still-unfrozen legs, like a frightened child.

But Liam was already encased in a layer of icy armor, making Liu Peng's efforts utterly futile.

"What are you trying to do?!" Liu Peng yelled, his voice tinged with desperation.

"Don't waste your energy," Liam replied, his voice cold and measured as he continued to channel his icy power into Liu Peng. "I could have frozen you instantly, but I chose not to. You don't need to be so scared."

"This place doesn't allow death," Liam explained calmly, "As that old man mentioned earlier, when you're in mortal danger, you'll be automatically teleported out."

"So, I'm just testing how far I need to go with my ice to trigger that threshold."

Outside, Cain, who was monitoring the scene, felt a twinge of exasperation. "So, I'm the 'old man' now, am I?" he thought to himself. "Does he realize I'm watching?"

Liu Peng, hearing Liam's calm explanation, felt a chill run through his very soul. It wasn't just his body that was freezing; his heart had turned cold with dread. Even though he knew he wouldn't die, the fear of watching himself slowly succumb to the ice was something he'd never experienced in his life.

And worse yet, if he got teleported out now, he'd be disqualified. He had so many plans, knowing the exam format in advance, and had hoped to seize this opportunity to shine, to catapult himself to fame and glory.

Why was it ending before it even began?

Regret washed over him—why had he tried to curry favor with Li Qi by targeting this terrifying monster? The look in Liam's eyes wasn't just cold; it was the look of someone who had killed before, someone who was completely unbothered by life and death. Who was this guy? He couldn't be just a student!

As his mind raced, Liu Peng's struggles grew weaker, his consciousness fading as the ice crept over his body. He turned his head slightly, hoping for help from his teammates, the ones who had agreed to join forces against Liam. But they stood far away, their powers fully activated, yet making no move to help him.

"Don't..." Liu Peng's voice faltered as the handcuff on his wrist began to flash rapidly, signaling that his life was in grave danger.

"Ice is actually a merciful power," Liam remarked calmly, watching Liu Peng's futile struggle. "It doesn't cause much pain, only numbness."

"That makes me a pretty good guy, don't you think?"

These were the last words Liu Peng heard before his consciousness slipped away completely. In the next instant, the handcuff on his wrist shattered, and a beam of light enveloped his body, teleporting him out of the secret realm.

Fifty-eight seconds after the "Hunting Action" officially began, Liu Peng, with his A-level talent, was eliminated—setting a new record for the fastest disqualification in the exam's history. It was an unprecedented feat, unlikely to be matched anytime soon.

Liu Peng's half-frozen body reappeared outside the secret realm, in front of all the judges. The light membrane quickly melted the ice and began to heal his body, but he remained unconscious, his heartbeat still weak.

Cain pointed a finger at Liu Peng, sending a gentle golden light to envelop him, slowly reviving his near-dead body. The handcuff's mechanism was designed to shield candidates from fatal harm before teleporting them out and stabilizing their injuries. But in Liu Peng's case, the gradual freezing had brought him out still in a critical state, forcing Cain to intervene directly.

In the judge's booth, all the high-ranking superhumans were stunned into silence, unable to speak. Even though many of them were stronger than Liam, they were still taken aback by what they had just witnessed. Liam had truly shocked them.

Never before in the history of these exams had something like this occurred. They had all suspected Liam of cheating, watching closely to see how he would prove himself if he was truly a genius. But they hadn't expected him to respond so quickly and so brutally.

This guy held no grudges—he acted immediately, with no delay.

But Liu Peng wasn't the only one who had questioned or insulted Liam earlier...

Could it be that...?

"Wow, this kid... he's pretty ruthless. Good thing this secret realm doesn't allow death," Cain mused, shaking his head with a wry smile.

"Impressive," remarked Dong Wushuang, the Mighty War God, with a hint of admiration as he lightly clapped his hands.

"Is this what you call an E-level? It looks like we need to reassess that," commented a tall judge wearing a mask.

"Strong, sure, but also reckless. Starting off by making everyone wary of him isn't a smart move," observed the Vice Principal of South Academy.

"His strength isn't in question, but if he keeps this up, he might not get the highest score," another judge added.

All eyes were now on Liam, with each judge offering their own evaluation.

But of all the reactions, none were more "colorful" than Li Qi's.
