I was in a hospital bed, how you may ask. I was in a car accident because some idiot was drunk. I am still alive, although the doctors say I might die I still hold on. Life is a gift, and a gift should not be thrown away.
But it appeared that a God had other plans. I front of my bed I saw a figure of a horned demon in a white robe with a dagger in its mouth.
(A.N: It's the same shinigami from Naruto.)
It reached out and stuck his hand in my body, it then pulled and the next thing I saw was my body. But my eyes seemed soulless and dead. The shinigami then took its dagger and cut a line in between my body and me. Silence, before the beep of the monitor saying I was dead echoed through the room.
The shinigami then started to leave with me as space contorted leading to a dark realm filled with several different colored lights floating around. I looked at the shinigami with anger. I could've made it, I was stable, and this 'God' decided to end me for no reason.
I couldn't do anything, my body seemed formless. I was frustrated, but I calmed down. I seemed to be made of some from of energy, let's see what happens when I focus.
I willed the end trail I was leaving to take so.e from, I cleared my thoughts and focused. It took what I guess to be 5 minutes, but I then had a physical tail of sorts moving behind me. I grinned, if I could.
'Time for something harder.' I thought looking at the shinigami. I willed a tendril on my right to take the physical form of am arm. I waited until the shinigami turned to face me, and then I struck.
It was probably mostly due to shock that his gripped loosened after I punched him, but I'd take what I could get. I'd moved back ten feet before willing myself to take the form of a body. The shinigami just looked with interest.
"Not did you escape my grip, but you have know taken physical form. You are an enigma, and know, I must end you." The shinigami said holding his dagger ready as he approached me.
My mind raced through what to do. I forgot my name, but not my ways. I needed a weapon, but it didn't look like I would be given one. The odds of me beating a God of death was practically zero, but I had a chance if I could form a weapon.
I needed to make one, and fast. I pulled deep within myself, searching for the energy that felt right, and found it. It was like a alive of energy, like steel, but formless with a charge to it. As if it needed to take shape. So I aimed for the weapon that I knew the best and forged myself. A katana.
The shinigami rushed me and brought its blade down, only for a clang of metal to be heard. The shinigami looked down in shock at the blade that was blocking his. "Impossible!" he said.
(A.N: Looks like the Dragon Sword from 'Nioh 2')
That shock gave me what I needed, I repositioned my blade and slashed downwards cutting the shinigami cheek. It stared in shock and touched the cut I gave him. I just stood ready planning my next move.
"How can you do that?" the shinigami asked. "You manage to get your soul to take physical form, but you drew forth your celestial weapon. Do you even know what it is you hold?"
I didn't answer.
"That weapon is something all sentient beings can access, although it usually never happens without years of guidance of a being that will aid you to understand your energy. You cannot access it without understanding the weapon you shape it into and separating the energy from your own. How did you gain it?"
I shrugged in my ghostly form. "The circumstances forced my to look for an energy and find something that would work. I doubt I mastered it, but I understand my blade and my body more than anything. It was my situation which forced me to adapt, because I would've never gained it otherwise."
The shinigami looked at me and laughed. "HAHAHAHA. You are indeed am enigma! No human from your world has never shown much promise. Your world is among the weakest, but you unlocked a weapon with the power to harm a god in small amount of time when the situation changed. What drove you to do this?"
I glared at him. " My time was not up, I had a good chance of survival but you took it. Life is a gift, and gifts should not go to waste."
The shinigami grinned barring it sharp teeth. "To tell a God of Death that your time was not up. I can't help but scoff at your idiocy. You don't even know your name. I will now feed on you. You are no threat to me, you haven't even mastered that blade!"
I paused in thought. I didn't know my name, nor much of my memories, but I knew enough.
"Why would I care much about a form of identification, that what a name is, but I have not forgotten my ways, and thats what matters." I said.
The shinigami looked at me as if I was crazy before a small smile quirked. "You are right, some humans go by many names, but they stick to there ways. Never less, even though I only have 10% of my power, you can't beat me." he said as he charged again.
He was faster the before and I barely managed to not get cut in two by blocking, but the force of the blade threw me back 10 meters and threw me off balance. The shinigami took the advantage of this and slashed at my chest.
I managed to dodge the worst but the cut he gave me hurt worse then hell. I cried out in pain before the shinigami kicked me in the gut sending me flying again.
'I have a weapon to fight him but can't keep up!' I thought as I barely blocked another slash. If he was able to use full power I'd never be able to break free.
'Although I'm in a terrible situation, my blood is boiling. How long has it been since I felt my spirit soar with excitement like this.' I thought and grinned like a mad man as I blocked two more strikes while still flying.
(Third person POV)
The shinigami widened his eyes as a yellow light started cracking out of the human. 'How can a human such as this come from there?!?' the shinigami thought.
He sped up clashing with the human multiple times, but the human was now faster and barley to block his strikes father. The yellow cracks continued to spread across his body.
A yellow and grey light suddenly exploded outwards as the shinigami rushed the human, only for his blade to be met in a head on clash with the humans spirit weapon. The shinigami was now looking at the shape of a great Yokai with grey skin and dark blue eyes, horns, and cloak. (Look up 'Nioh 2 final boss' and then replace the purple with dark blue.)
(Third person POV end)
This power was incredible. I never felt anything like this in my life. It was like my battle spirit took physical form. I glared at the shinigami in front off me who was in more shock then ever before. 'Nows My Chance!!' I thought.
I parried his dagger throwing his arm up and slashed at him with all my power. The shark tried to retreat, but the reason I would chose a sword over a dagger any day was what made me win, the REACH.
Since the shinigami weild a dagger he needed to get very close to actually do harm, and since my katana was several times longer he could not escape his fate.
The slash I dealt cut him completely in half from left shoulder do waist diagonally. The shinigami looked at he before laughing as he started to fade. "You may have defeated this body, but I wonder what will happen to you now that you are in this void." he said.
I widened my eyes and raised my blade turning my body sideways as the body exploded with energy sending me flying. I could barely comprehend where I was going on until I was surrounded by white.
I groaned in pain and started to get up, but before I could sliver chains wrapped around me and forced me in a kneeling position. I looked up saw a a goddess of a girl that was filled out perfectly with blue hair and a round face. On the side note she was wearing nothing but a towel that came down just below her ass, she was wet, and she was extremely pissed off just looking at her face.
