Amnessia panicked and couldn't figure out what to say. Afterwards, Felix didn't continue speaking, and as he sipped his tea, silence once again enveloped the surroundings. Felix, with indifferent eyes, observed the working servants by the fountain. In the meantime, a brown-haired, green-eyed woman approached, walking with unsteady steps.
A subtle smile formed on Felix's face, but Amnessia noticed it. However, she maintained her expression as if nothing had changed, well aware that various rumors could arise if her demeanor showed any deviation.
The garden was connected to various parts of the palace. Passing by the area of the servants, you would first encounter the kitchen and then the rooms where the servants and other staff resided.
If you looked to the opposite side of the servants, to your left, you'd be heading towards the inner part of the palace, where the royal family lived. If you continued towards Amnessia's location, you would be in the area where concubines and the children of mixed blood resided.
The direction Felix was looking towards, on the other hand, led to the exit of the garden, allowing one to leave directly outside the palace.
After a few more hours of quietly drinking tea, Amnessia sought permission to leave.
"I don't want to disturb you any longer, Your Highness the Crown Prince."
"Alright, you can go."
Felix turned to her nonchalantly and spoke after seeing off Amnessia with formality. He returned to his room through the passage leading to the living quarters of the royal family and rang the golden bell, ordering some snacks.
Valnric bowed his head as he exited the room. A few minutes later, Alyysia entered with a smiling expression. The coldness that surrounded Felix disappeared instantly, replaced by a smile. He gestured towards the chair in front of him, indicating for her to sit.
"Alyysia, please, have a seat."
Upon hearing Felix's warm and sincere words, Alyysia blushed. She placed the snacks she was holding on the table and took a seat. Then, she smiled, resting her elbow on the table and supporting her face with her hand.
"How was your day, Felix?"
If someone heard Alyysia addressing the Crown Prince in such an informal way, they would be shocked. Even the Crown Princess didn't speak to him with such familiarity.
Felix, acting as if everything were normal, clasped his hands together and lowered his gaze as he spoke.
"It went quite well, you know, dealing with paperwork and the usual hustle."
Due to the events of the previous day, Felix felt uncomfortable looking directly at Alyysia. His eyes were often cast down, or he would steal glances at her with small sidelong looks. Alyysia adopted a pouting expression.
"The expression on your face doesn't look good at all! Why are you lying to me? If you really feel bad, you can tell me..."
As Alyysia spoke, Felix blushed, and his heart began to beat more intensely. "Uh, um," he stammered, then bit his lower lip. Just as he was about to formulate a response, Alyysia continued speaking.
"Thank you for helping me two days ago..."
"I did what I had to do..."
Interrupting Felix, Alyysia continued speaking.
"Even though the mistake was mine, you spent valuable time for me and used the precious ointment of the Imperial healer for me. That's why, to make up for my mistake, I have a healing ointment that my mother used for me in the past when I got injured. Please accept it!"
Alyysia suddenly took out a metal box containing ointment from the pocket of her servant's attire and offered it to Felix, bowing her head. Her entire face was flushed. Felix was stunned as he looked at the gift and couldn't react for a while. Then, Alyysia, still embarrassed, folded her arms and prepared to get up from the chair to leave.
"Oh, if I bothered you..."
After sitting down on the chair, Felix looked at Alyysia, who was eating enthusiastically, as if she were devouring all the food in front of her like a monster. However, to Felix, this situation only made Alyysia seem even more endearing. At that moment, a pair of red eyes behind them withdrew their disgusted gaze.
"I feel like I'm in a mediocre romance novel."
After Alyysia left Felix's room, Felix took the gift on the table and placed it inside the bedside table. He took another cold shower and then threw himself onto the bed.
Meanwhile, Mary, feeling a bittersweet warmth flowing through her body, trembled with excitement. After calming herself down, she could feel that she could move her entire left arm according to her will.
However, she hadn't dared to move her arm yet, fearing the risk of being seen while the Crown Prince was still around. Mary chuckled in her mind at the perfect scenario she had already prepared for the future of the two prey. All that was needed now was for Alyysia to quickly become Empress!
