Ryan made it back in the waiting room with 8 other people spread out throughout the room. The only people that was sitting together was Elizabeth and Brian. He had made his way over to them.
"What took you so long, you was in there for longer than normal." Brian said with a hint of confusion in his tone.
"Nothing much, I guess something happened on there part that delayed it."
Even though Ryan trust them, but there are no reason for them to know that even a high level artifact can't see his mana core.
Time pass, as everyone finished the signing up process. Eventually a guy came in and spoke a few words.
"There will be people coming in to take you to the place you have to be at before the fight. They will give you a badge with a number on it, that number will be what is called when its your turn to fight. If you want a nickname called instead, just let the attended know after your third consecutive win." He left after speaking, not giving anyone a chance to respond. You could tell from his tone he felt like it was a waste of his time to come to speak.
Not to much time had past until a attended came in one by one calling certain ranks to follow them. Besides Ryan and the siblings there was 6 other people.
3 rank1, 2 rank2, and a rank3. Ryan and the siblings went there separate ways wishing each other good luck, and went with there own attended.
Ryan had followed the attended to another room with 3 other rank1. When they had enter the room there was many other fighters there spread out. The room was like a theater, there was many seats that was space out facing 5 big screens. On each screen there was a different stage.
There wasn't much talking, everyone was pretty much keeping to themselves. Ryan sat in a seat that was isolated from everyone. Ryan noticed a count down in the room, which from how much time remaining it should be a count down to start the match.
40 minutes later the count down reached zero, and the screen change to show a guy standing next to the oath stone. He was greeting the audience and getting ready to call up the fighters to fight.
He started calling out people to fight in the first round but Ryan number wasn't called. Ryan did see Elizabeth walking from under her stage towards the oath stone though.
The announcer said the oath out loud so everyone could hear, and the stone started glowing. Everyone had put there hand on the stone and accepted the oath, you could see a light entering each of there body's.
They all walked back to the stage they was under and got prepared to fight. Ryan only had his focus on Elizabeth stage. He wasn't worried about losing against any of his rank1 matches, so he barely had any attention to that stage.
(I should had place a bet on her, I am pretty confident in her winning. At least she wouldn't lose to anyone average, but anything could happen though. I have around 10 mana stones left, I probably shouldn't risk it unless I am betting on myself.) Ryan sighed to himself as Elizabeth match started.
Elizabeth took out 1 sword and wasted no time, and push her speed to her limit leaving her current spot. Her opponent couldn't keep track of her, he was only able to see a blur leaving his line of sight every time he try looking for her.
Elizabeth did circles around the guy and sent a lightning arrow his way while charging from the opposite side. The guy noticed the arrow but failed to notice Elizabeth in time. He blocked the arrow while that gave Elizabeth enough time to place the sword on his neck.
"Admit defeat or next time I won't stop my attack." Elizabeth said in a cold tone.
The guy surrender and Elizabeth won her first match. A decent amount of people cheered for her victory, as she walked back underneath the stage.
Elizabeth had won her fight in less than a minute, so Ryan had time to pay more attention to the rank1 stage.
All the fights had ended within 10 minutes and the announcer called up the next Round of people. This time Ryan number, 187 was called, and Ryan made his way to the door exit.
When he had opened the door there was a short hallway that had other doors in there, and it had led to a staircase.
(I'm glad they call out one from each stage first, instead everyone at once. It would of been awkward to walk up these stairs with your opponent.)
Ryan made it to the door that lead to the arena and took a deep breath.
( You got this, don't show any emotion, make this win look easy.)
Ryan pushed open the door and heard the loud audience in there seats. His heart started to pound heavily, drowning out the audience cheers. His muscles tightened with each step he took, as his breth coming out slightly quicker.
As he walked he looked around, even though he can't tell but he feels the gazes of people watching him. A rush of energy was traveling in his body and was ready to be release.
Ryan wasn't nervous, he was feeling excitement. His body was telling him its ready to fight, and to finally show people he not weak anymore. He didn't realize until now, how good it feels to be confident in your own strength.
He made his way to the oath stone, but he couldn't help but to let a smirk form on his face thinking of his dad word's.
"You always ask me why do I act like I could do anything. It's because I can with enough confidence. Plus it's fun to watch people reactions when you are overly confident, as long you have the ability to back it up."
(Let see how fun it is than, you did say being arrogant and being confident is the same.)
Ryan made it to the oath stone and the announcer started to call out the rest of the fighters.
To Ryan surprise the light that traveled in his body got sucked into his mana core. He wasn't sure if this was suppose to happen, but he still showed no expression on his face. He do have a gut feeling that the oath will have no effect on him anymore.
Ryan didn't spend to much time thinking about it, he heard the announcer saying head to his stage.
Ryan stood on the stage with his hands behind his back looking down on his opponent.
You could tell from the change of expression on his opponent face he took it personally.
FIGHT!! The announcer yelled.
His opponent pulled out a sword and rush towards Ryan. Ryan stood there not moving, with his hands behind his back. He was wearing a confident smirk, as if he was saying what you are doing is laughably useless.
The guy couldn't help but think twice about charging in and stop 20 feet away. He pulled out some throwing knives instead but just as he was about to toss them he felt his body get heavy causing him to frowned.
Ryan took a step towards him and he felt his body get heavier. As he realized that he try to back up but in the middle of him backing up Ryan increases it by 20 times. Causing the guy to lose balance and fall backwards.
He tried to get up but he realized his body is stuck to the ground. He only had shock and fear on his face by the turn of events. He couldn't lift his head up to see Ryan but he could hear each of Ryan steps getting closer causing even more fear to build up.
Ryan had used his lightning element to attract him to the ground, while making the guy heavier at the same time. Its so effective on rank1 because a rank1 novice is only 3 times physically stronger than an average human.
Imagine lifting 20 times your body weight plus the attraction to the ground. The only reason he not getting squash is because his aura is resisting Ryan aura, lessening the effects
"I admit defeat." The guy yelled knowing he couldn't do anything .
