'The longest thing I've ever written was 182 pages. Most of what I write is much shorter than that' Julian replied truthfully. 

He was referring to academic papers rather than stories but he hadn't outright lied. Merely skirted around her question. The 182-page paper had been his second dissertation. He had toyed with the idea of writing a book at some point but he preferred being in the lab to academia. 

'Nothing wrong with that!' Izzy replied. 'So, do you have any other questions for me?'

Several. Most of which weren't related to the original reason Roz approached her online in the slightest. 

'We can get back to the matter of the short story later. I'm more curious about what got you interested in writing in the first place' Julian confessed. 

He had read a few of her short stories while waiting for her to get back online and they were rather well-written even if they weren't exactly his cup of tea. She had a rather engaging writing style.
