Capítulo 25: The Stadium

After confirming his identity with the dormitory supervisor, Luke entered the elevator and pressed on the second floor. After a while, the elevator reached the second floor and Luke, Amon, Tien began walked out from it. Searching for his room number 34, Luke wandered for a moment before finally spotted it. The door was installed by locking that could only be opened by the registered badge.

Inserting his badge to a scanner, Luke waited for a second before a "Ting" sound was emitted as the door slowly opened.

Entering his dorm room, Luke surveyed the place and noticed that there are two bunk beds colored in casual black. One of the bunk beds already filled with many kinds of stuff, while for the other one, only the upper side remained clean and untouched.

As Luke assumed the upper side were unused, Luke placed his uniform onto it and began marching toward the bathroom. After a long journey, his face needs a recharge of waters.

Entering the bathroom, Luke nodded in satisfaction upon concluding that the bathroom was quite vast. Using a water faucet, Luke started to rinse a weary feeling from his face. Though many kinds of facial wash products lined up in front of the mirror, Luke didn't dare to use it since he's not close yet with his dormmates. What if one of his dormmates were a clean freak and didn't want his item used by other people?

Coming out of the bathroom, Luke suddenly remembered that he had yet notified his parents regarding him successfully entered the Academy. He quickly searches for his phone and immediately messaged his mom that he was safe and sound and will call her at night.

After sending the message, Luke quickly changed his current clothes into the uniform one. He placed his previous clothes on the upper side of the bunk bed and strode toward the door.

"What taking you so long?" Amon couldn't help but complain upon realizing Luke takes about 10 minutes to just changes his clothes.

Luke scratched his head embarrassedly, "I was cleaning myself a bit to make me look more presentable."

Amon stared at Luke from head to toe before commented with a thumbs-up, "You look great, but not so great as me."

Luke rolled his eyes at his senior narcissistic behaviour, "Yeah, yeah, senior Amon was the best."

Soon after, the trio exited the dorm and began walking toward the in-door stadium. Along the way, Luke found some people also go in the same direction as him. The moment they spotted Amon and Tien who was standing beside Luke, their gaze turned solemn, and they hurriedly greeted the two of them.

'It seems like brother Amon and Tien's reputation quite well-known,' Luke silently mused.

"Brother Amon, did you allowed to go with me here? I mean, what about your task guarding the front gate?" Luke asked Amon with a tone of confusion. If so, then what about the front gate? Who would guard it?

Seeing a confused look plastered over Luke's face, Amon chuckled slightly before answered, "It's fine. There's actually another group who will replace the primary group every time the primary group getting another task."

Luke nodded understandingly, and just as he was about to speak more, a huge black dome slowly revealed into Luke's eyes. The dome looks like a huge turtle shell with much cyber pattern highlighting its uniqueness.

"Isn't it too big for only a mere battle class?" Luke mumbled doubtfully. The dome more like a stadium where you would watch a football competition or whatsoever who could accommodate many people.

"Haha, this dome was once used when we became a host for National Academy Competition a few years ago."

"National Academy Competition?" Luke asked with a blank look.

"What the hell? In what era do you actually live before?" Amon shook his head in disbelief and amusement.

'If I said I once lived in the 20th century, or an era before Doraemon, would you believe me?' A thought crossed on Luke's mind, but he quickly brushed it off.

"I'm seldom watching TV." Luke admitted.

"Tch. Anyway, the National Academy Competition was a tournament between Top Transcender from different academies. Last year, we only managed to secure the top eight spots. Even if my strength was considered as good in this academy, there are actually many monsters whose talent is godlike." Amon sighed.

Luke was regretting his question earlier since he could see that Amon's mood became somewhat downcast. He quickly changed the topic, "Come on, big brother Amon, Tien. I don't want to get late in my first lesson."

They hastened their pace and finally reached the stadium front entrance. As Luke about to enter, someone stopped him, "You, stop right there!"

"Me?" Luke pointed at his face.

"Yeah, where's your badge?" The man sternly said.

"What for?" Luke covered his chest cautiously as if afraid of being robbed.

"What for, you asked? It's for the payment of course!" The man yelled impatiently.

"What???" Luke burst out in shock. It's not free?

"If you don't have enough credit, get lost!" The man about to push Luke out from the queue when Amon stepped forward, "Hey brother, be patient when treating a junior, won't you?"

The man about to refute the man's words but stopped when his gaze stopped at Amon insignia. Precisely, the number and letter on it. A number 8 and a letter A, that's enough to render the man speechless.

The man immediately bowed slightly in respect, and courteously said, "I'm sorry, senior."

Seeing the man already apologize, Amon didn't want to push the matter further and handed his badge directly, "Here, use mine instead."

Luke shockingly looked at Amon, "Brother Amon I-" Amon immediately stopped his sentence, "This credit point was essentially important. It's like money in the outside world. If you got no credit points, what do you planned to eat later?"

Luke immediately gets surprised upon hearing what Amon meant. He didn't know that this tiny badge was so important in the academy. When he received this badge, the three elders didn't say anything other than 100 credit points stored at this badge.

After paying for the ticket, Amon entered the stadium along with Luke and Tien. In the middle of walking, Luke couldn't help but ask, "Is attending any lesson would cost credit points?"

If that so, this school is really so stingy. Not only they didn't give AC for lower rank, they even charging a payment for every service they provide.

'Greatest academy on Lark City my foot! More like the best swindle academy ever!' Luke cursed inwardly.

Amon pondered for a bit before answered, "Mostly yes. As for the lesson where you will be taught history or origin of the potion, Joyn Race, and Notorn Race, not only will you get taught freely. The school would even pay you for attending that lesson. That's why although the lesson was boring that you will fall asleep. Someone still attending it diligently."

"What? That simple? Then I'd certainly attend it." Luke stated naively.

"Did you think the lesson really that simple? At the end of the lesson, the lecturer will give you some tests. And if you fail to answer the question, you will get kicked out immediately from the room and get zero credit point. Your hours of attending the lesson would turn naught, haha." Amon began laughed heartily after remembering his classmates' cases.

Luke also began laughing upon hearing the story, and Tien was a cold person initially, so he didn't laugh, but his lips curled upwards slightly.

In a moment, the trio finally reached the middle side of the stadium. There already sat many people in a vast pure white arena that could accommodate a thousand people. Luke wondered what kind of battle that needed a huge arena like this.

The clock slowly ticked by, and soon the arrow on Luke's watch gradually pointed at the number of 3.
