“How about the cheetah?Looks sickly.”

“Do you think I’d try to sell the Russians something that will die before they get their hands on it?”someone else said with venom in his tone.“Besides,they’ll just make sure it can run,let it loose,and hunt it down.That’s all they are after.Rich bastards.”

Hearing those words had made Shani’s head spin and her blood turn cold.In the next few hours,she listened closely to every word spoken around her.When the language she recognized as Russian carried into her cage in the back of yet another truck,she had thought she’d die of a panic attack.

The Russians bought several animals:hyenas,a leopard,some other smaller animals,and Shani

She was so shocked,so out of her mind with fear,that she couldn’t even formulate a proper plan.For endless hours she hovered between blacking out and staying awake,not quite there but not quite gone either.
