My anger hadn't cooled even after an hour; it simmered just beneath my skin, burning hotter with each step. The school building felt suffocating, like a cage I had to break free from.

I could still see the look on Matt's face—confusion, disbelief, and then the pain. He had it coming, though. He'd pushed me too far, and I'd snapped on him. The book, of all things, had been the trigger.

The damn book. I should've known better.

Shit! I was still seeing red that I barely realized leaving the school. I desperately wanted to go back and beat him some more.
