It was a quiet afternoon at school, the kind where everyone was just going through the motions, waiting for the day to end. I was sitting in class, half-listening to the teacher drone on about something I didn't care about, when the loudspeaker crackled to life. The sudden noise made everyone look up, curious about the interruption. Normally, it would be some mundane announcement about an upcoming event or a reminder to turn in assignments, but this time was different.

""Hey, everyone! This is Matt Bennington here,"" Matt's voice boomed over the loudspeaker, cheerful and confident, like he was about to announce something fun. ""I've got something really special to share with you all today.""

My heart sank. I knew that tone, the way he always sounded when he was about to pull something terrible. A chill ran down my spine, and I couldn't shake the feeling that this was going to be bad—really bad.
