I watched as Kyle prepared to leave, my irritation building with every second. He had the nerve to tell me he had to go to extra tutoring, as if that was more important than spending time with me. My hand clenched into a fist, and I could feel a low growl rumbling in my throat. "You're telling me you, the top student, has to go to extra tutoring?" I asked, barely able to keep the frustration out of my voice. The idea of him being away from me was infuriating, especially on a weekend that was supposed to be ours.

"Argh! What kind of bullshit is that?" I snapped, watching as he calmly continued getting dressed, as if my feelings didn't matter. I hated how calm he could be, how easily he could dismiss my concerns. I wanted to keep him close, where I could protect him, where he couldn't leave me.
