32.69% Thrown Into Hell (Slow Updates) / Chapter 17: 12

Capítulo 17: 12

Anri steeled herself after almost half a minute of being completely still. She took off her helmet and cleaned her tears. Diluc saw that her face was as disgusting as his after he gained strength from Yeol. He handed her a purging stone.

"Here, you look disgusting, you can look better with this. You won't lose your dark sigils either but you need to take one every month or so." DIluc explained. He wasn't sure if she knew of purging stones. He had been taking these once every month to retain his looks and since he was married to his supplier, he got them for free.

"Thank you... for this and for Horace. I'm sure this is what he would've wanted." Anri spoke in a soft tone. She then stood up and crushed the purging stone. Diluc was pleasantly surprised. She was a beautiful woman with blue eyes and orange hair.

(A.N. I don't know how to describe facial features. She looks like the female warden from for honor. If I remember this note by the time, I mass release I'll post a pic.)

"You look much better this way." Diluc commented with a smile. She returned the smile and put her helmet back on, her newly acquired orange hair was free flowing out of her helmet.

(A.N. If you didn't know, hollow Anri doesn't have hair. The purging stone returned it.)

They both then went on to challenge the High Lord Wolnir. They were forced to fight him independently but he wasn't much of a challenge in the first place. His souls would be turned into a Holy Sword he never used.

He then kills a big dog with the mouth of a crocodile which was a surprising challenge, he had to take a few estus flasks to kill it.

Next was finding Anri at the Church of Yorshka. As soon as she saw Diluc, she waved to him and skipped over to him, it was obvious that she trusted him much more than she should.

"Oh, I thought it might be you. Good to see you. It was unfortunate what happened to Horace but my duty must be done, even alone. As an unkindled Lordseeker. For the children I knew, bless their souls. We all have our reasons, don't we?" Anri spoke with a somber tone.

"Please, take this. Recompense for my foolish request. And also, a token of protection. May the flames guide your way." She said as she gave a ring to Diluc. Good thing the culture in this word was different from his otherwise their marriage would come much sooner.

"Thank you, I'll treasure it." Diluc said in return. Her blooming smile could be seen through her helmet.

Next was meeting up with Siegward again, Diluc found him in a sewer system sitting in front of some estus soup, sleeping like a log.

"Ah, ohh! Excuse me. I must have dozed off. It's rather warm in here. Well, well, hasn't it been all too long! It's good to see you. Oh, I seemed to have missed my chance, so... I, Siegward of Catarina, offer my deepest gratitude, a little surprise to go with it. It's all yours." He laughs as he gifts Diluc the force spell, unfortunately it's a faith spell which he isn't suited to use.

"I know. Won't you join me for dinner? I make a fine estus soup. I've got some stewing right now. Even we Undead deserve a little normalcy, from time to time. And finally, upon this rendezvous, let us make a toast. To your valor, my sword, and our sworn duties! Long may the sun shine!... Have you heard Somewhere, hidden right here in Irithyll, is a deep dungeon. And even below that, the Profaned Capital. Home of Yhorm, the reclusive giant lord. That reminds me, I've a grave promise to keep... Oh, sorry, I'm afraid I've cast a cloud over things. Well, I'm going to have myself a little nap. The only thing to do, really, after a nice toast." He laughs as he falls asleep. Diluc almost fell asleep as well in the cozy atmosphere of this place, but he knew he'd have to rescue Siegward from a prison soon and wasn't going to give into unconsciousness.

(A.N. How many of you actually read all of Siegward's dialogue right there huh? (And yes, I copy pasted the dialogue.))

Regardless, Diluc continued to proceed and sure enough...

"Hmm... Hmm... Ah, oh! Pardon me. I was absorbed in thought. Look at me, trapped like a rat. But you needn't worry. I've just been sitting here, weighing my options. The moment has almost come... I just need a bit more time. My liberation requires a key. But the key is outside... Hmm... A riddle for the ages..." He said from within a cage Diluc stumbled upon.

"I'm surprised you managed to lock yourself in a cage. I'll find the key." Diluc stated with a sigh.

And thus, it took a day for him to find the key and unlock the onion man.

"Ah! You are a saint! Once again, you are my valiant savior. I, Siegward of Catarina, express my deepest gratitude. Take this, a token of my thanks. Go on, it's all yours." He hands Diluc a titanite slab as he laughs. They both go their own ways.

And finally, was the battle against Yhorm which came a day later. Diluc was about to go through the fog gate to fight Yhorm when a hand grasped his shoulder. It was Siegward, they both nodded at each other and entered the fog gate.

"Yhorm, old friend. I, Siegward of the Knights of Catarina, have come to uphold my promise! Let the sun shine upon this Lord of Cinder." Siegward shouted as he pulled out the Storm Ruler from his back. Wind revolves around the sword as Yhorm approaches. As soon as Siegward is about to be squashed by Yhorm's foot, Siegward slashed the air with the sword. A large sharp slash of air hit Yhorm and made him stagger.

This was Diluc's chance to run to the throne and get a Storm Ruler for himself, the second he got the sword, he was kicked back towards Siegward by the massive giant.

He quickly drank two estus flasks as Siegward covered him with another Storm Ruler Blast. And finally, as soon as both of them were ready, they alternated attacks. Siegward would be charging an attack while Diluc's attack made Yhorm stagger, and vice versa. This made short and easy work of the not so gentle giant.

"It seems I'm in your debt once again. My thanks, I could not have kept my promise without you. Now, for a final toast. To your valor, and my old friend Yhorm. Long may the sun shine! Well, I'm going to have myself a little nap. The only thing to do, really, after a nice toast. You are a true friend. Best of luck with your duty." Siegward spoke as he went to sleep. Unfortunately, both of them knew that this would be the last nap he'd take. Diluc stayed with the onion man as he passed away from unknown causes.

His body misted away and his armor and possessions remained. The items made their way into Diluc's inventory without a word.

Finally, came Pontiff Sulyvahn. This was the biggest obstacle in Diluc's journey over the past 7 years, it took him 5 and a half years in order to overcome this boss.

Diluc refined his technique with the sword to an extreme, it surpassed Pontiff long ago. His level reached a bottleneck where it took too long to grind and level up. There were no more weapons or spells to acquire. Diluc was the strongest he could be and he couldn't beat Pontiff. As he became stronger, Pontiff became smarter, he used more and more dirty tactics, he used his clone's attacks at the same time as he attacked. No matter what Diluc did, he couldn't beat him.

That was, until a very evil idea crept up in his mind. He decided to use Pontiff's ability to learn against him. Every night he'd go to the boss room and fight as shoddily as he could, Pontiff would taunt and scoff at the pathetic attempt at its life. It became more focused on playing with its prey than fighting well, it became sloppy.

And that's when Diluc killed him. Pontiff believed that his toy had come running back to him and dodged the attack that Diluc had always thrown as he entered the arena. He then dodged another and another that Diluc always followed up with. Pontiff had won before the game had even begun.

Well, that was until Diluc used his Farron Greatsword and Soul Greatsword to chop off both of Pontiff's arms simultaneously. Diluc knew he wouldn't be able to kill him with one strike and decided to just get rid of the threat. Now, the rest of the fight was easy, Pontiff only had his feet to attack with and his clone was only able to copy its owner not the owner's prime.
