Luis's past life is not entirely lacking in spring. He will have a few crushes here and there. Just like any other people.
But just like the season that changes over time, these little crushes wouldn't even last long.
First-year college. Luis once admired a senior who is a part of varsity basketball. Buff, olive-brown skin and handsome. Seventy percent of his ideal type.
Luis was in awe of this man because of that domineering alpha energy he exudes whenever he is playing with his balls. Like the basketball 'ball'.
Reason for turning off; he was an *sshole due to his severe insecurity of Luis's enviable six feet flat height.
Then there goes his coworker in an advertising company where he once worked at. Eighty percent his type.
A certified TDC. Tall, dark and cute.
Well, maybe a little lacking in his charm but it was passable. Plus he is really good at his job and very responsible.
Luis and this guy are fairly getting along until he was punched after he was outed as gay. The reason for turning off; he is a major homophobic jerk.
The list goes on for long as he keeps on having little crushes. One at a time. Two or even three at a time.
Seriously, if having a crush could brand a person as a flirt, then Luis is probably a big sl*t.
But none of these crushes ended well nor it went beyond admiration. Luis is at least proud that it wasn't on him.
Or maybe it was. Who told him to take fancy on jerks anyway?
The cycle keeps going on and on even after the world has ended.
Now going back to the present, while he was in the sturdy and bulging arms of this Mr One-hundred-percent-my-type, Luis cannot help but think that this gorgeous moon elf is another jerk to be put on his list.
"I didn't expect that they will leave you just like that," Xagrien said in a flat tone. Sounding with a bit of ridicule, that is at least in Luis' ears. They are now on top of a huge tree looking around, trying to find the traces of their pursuers.
Luis cannot help but to raise his brows.
Moments ago, Luis can still feel their presence but now, it seems like they lost them.
"This should serve as a lesson and make sure that you choose your followers carefully in the future," Xagrien said like a father reprimanding his daughter.
While still snuggling in the arms of this male god, Luis snappily raised his head and faced the dizzying gorgeous face of the moon elf.
"Just to make things clear, my people did not abandon me. Do I still need to remind you that you are a four-star lightning warrior who could wildly sprint around the forest like a freaking tempest wolf?" The moon elf lord who is still undercover said pointedly.
Luis is amazed how this guy moved around the forest. Jumping or running, this man has a very strong footing that he was stable no matter how the terrain changes. Xagrien is even doing all these stunts while holding him in his arms!
The muscles and cuts in this man's body is well-justified!
" Then you should reconsider their strength. They are way too weak." Luis couldn't see any fluctuation on this guy's face when he said that.
Luis clicked his tongue while looking at the man.
'Should I tell him that those weaklings are actually sentinels that are trained by the temple?'
That was only a momentary thought that he scrapped almost immediately. Doing so will blow off his disguise.
He doesn't think that this guy knowing that he is the moon elf lord will be helpful.
Luis is afraid that this guy wouldn't casually treat him this way once he finds out the truth.
For some reason, Luis doesn't want that to happen.
The moon elf lord distracted himself from that thought and he answered Xagrien.
"That is way better than a certain someone who would ruthlessly paralyze a weak and unsuspecting bearer and take him as a hostage." Luis crossed his arms and gave a smile that is not really a smile. Then he continued passionately.
"And on top of that, that hostage is actually the one who saved this certain someone from being butt naked and wounded while inside a dangerous forest! Just how ridiculous is that."
Xagrien did not react to this provocation.
Luis can only see the non-expressive face of this adonis in close proximity. Xagrien's purple eyes meet with his dark green ones.
He can remember that there are some changes in Xagrien's expression when they are talking about the other's secret and about the rogues but when it comes to him, there was nothing.
Luis didn't know how to put it but he felt bummed upon realizing that.
"You know what, you are not cute at all." Luis mindlessly uttered after the stare-down.
"What do you mean by that?" The young moon elf furrowed his brow, looking confused.
"It means that you are not likeable or loveable," Luis explained matter of factly.
"Hey, hey! What are you doing?" Luis cried after he felt the arms holding him loosen. He hurriedly used his arms and hugged the male.
"Get down."Xagrien's cold voice sounded.
"What?"Luis look at Xagrien directly, looking as if he heard that the crow turned white. Their faces are only a few inches away from each other.
"You will just toss me away after you are done using me as a hostage?! You can't do that!"
"You made my body so weak so you need to take responsibility!"
Luis didn't realize that he raised his voice and that his mouth is close to the other's ear.
Xagrien on the other hand, did not budge at all.
"Don't overreact. The lightning power that I used on you is just enough to cause temporary paralysis." The male explained with his face paralysis on.
"Your mouth can run off like that so you should at least be able to walk yourself back."
"Are you serious?" Luis said unbelievingly. "You will drop me while we are still on top of this tree.
"Since you manage to survive my rampage and can venture into the middle circle of Shane Greenwoods then you must be strong, right?" Xagrien blinked twice upon saying it.
"Now, go back to your camp."
"Wow, you should be grateful that you are my type or I will smack you in the face right at this moment." Luis sighed. He was getting ready to go down when Xagrien's big hands clasped his waist, holding him in place.
"Your type?" Luis once again had a stare-down with those pair of purple orbs.
He blinked before answering. Trying to pull himself together.
"It means that I at least consider you as aesthetically pleasing. However, you are dropping out of my consideration. I don't want a male who doesn't know how to apologize when he knew that he wronged me."
Then Luis sighed a dramatic sigh.
"Alright, let me go down," he tapped the other's broad shoulder.
It was hard muscles, okay.
"Then I am sorry." Luis somehow heard the low voice of Xagrien so he stared directly at him.
"Was that an appeal for reconsideration?" Luis said jokingly.
But Xagrien just blinked while maintaining his perpetual facial paralysis.
"Right, whatever." Luis pouted and just brushed it off.
Seems like he could only swallow this defeat.
But Luis will not give up on communicating with the rogues.
He closed his eyes and tried to think how he could work around it.
Xagrien is protective of his group and has a prejudice against anyone outside. Luis thought that this is more like a job application.
If Luis is an applicant then this wild man is his future employer. He needs to think of a way that will make Xagrien want him.
I mean, take him.
Luis wasn't done with his thoughts when he felt a chill run down his spine.
Then he suddenly felt himself falling.
Hi guys! So here is today's chapter. How is it?
