Shane Greenwood's Middle Circle, near Adriha Clan.
The sky is strewn with millions of stars and the moon is hanging proudly in the night sky.
It's been more than a day since the moon elf lord vanished with an unknown man. The sentinels and the scouts are out looking for traces to locate their whereabouts and it wasn't easy at all. In this forest with a lot of beasts moving and a lot of other environmental factors, it is easy to lose one's trail.
Only the moonlight and their torches serves as the moon elves' illumination.
It was supposedly time to go to bed but they didn't bother to sleep since they didn't think that they are able to.
The atmosphere wasn't light to say the least.
The tension is so thick that you can slice through it. Priests and sentinels, they are moving to and fro to look for possible clues and find their lord.
"Found anything?" An austere voice was heard on their back. The group of sentinels visibly stiffened when they saw Legland standing behind them.
As if on cue, they gulped out of nervousness and answered, "Nothing, Head Sentinel Legland."
They bowed their heads after reporting. Not wanting to stare at the evident disappointment on their leader's face.
They are the group who was sent to follow the tracks of the moon elf lord. To follow while maintaining distance, that is the order.
But what they didn't expect is that the warrior who took their lord has a very agile body and can swiftly move around in the forest?!
And on top of that, he is also a four-star warrior. He is only a little worse than their Head Sentinel Legland!
They are just a bunch of three-star warriors with an inferior ability compared to that man.
In the end, they failed to follow their moon elf lord and disgraced the pride of the sentinels.
Truth be told, they are supposed to be dead in their own hands after such failure.
However, Head Priest Nicol stopped them and instructed them to wait for the verdict of the moon elf lord once he comes back.
Legland sighed as he scrutinize at the defeated look of the supposedly proud sentinels. He himself is downcast.
Is this the effect of the absence of the moon elf lord to them? It was to this degree when it hasn't been that long since the moon elf lord came in their lives.
More than a day of absence and he felt like he was approaching the twilight of his life.
Legland thought deeply of this situation.
He must admit that this is their miscalculation. He underestimated the ability of the young man and overestimated their ability.
They overlook the fact that lightning users have inherent superiority in speed and agility just like the wind users.
Hence, they are taught a hard lesson. And now they are left missing the moon elf lord.
Legland breathed a sigh once again. This lesson should be remembered for eternity!
The moon elf lord must be right. They need to become strong and wise enough to stand with the lord and not lose him.
The head of the sentinel balled his fist with that promise and issued his orders. Since in his opinion, he is the only one in the condition to do so.
"We will move to the outer circle now and focus on locating the entrance of the tunnels. There is a huge possibility that they moved underground in order to go to the man's territory."
"Rion," Legland called his son. "Let the Oriole Squad to take the lead. Look for any tracks a long the way. Do not miss anything."
"Yes!" Rion saluted and immediately lead his team to move as ordered. His chest flaming with desire to find the moon elf lord. He honestly felt useless and insecure these days.
His squad's scouting efforts has been fruitless, and they are supposedly the best scout out of all the sentinels.
Then a strong moon elf who is about his age came up and he is way stronger than he is.
This is the first time to feel the helplessness of the weak for Rion.
However, he doesn't feel discouraged but instead he has this strong inclination to train harder. The young moon elf lord did not know that this is the feeling of rivalry and this will propel his growth to a greater heights.
Rion mounted his contracted beast and flew ahead.
After the sentinels and priests moved based on his command, Legland turned to look at Nicol.
The head priest's face is as pallid as a blank parchment but it is obvious from his actions that he is worried about the lord.
How many times has the head priest almost lost his way?
He honestly never thought that he will see his serious friend act like a headless fly.
The head sentinel can only sigh with exasperation.
Legland can understand such feelings. Errors are inevitable as a leader and it is okay.
But if you are pushed forward to play as the commander, it is important to minimize or totally eliminate the possibility of mistakes. Lives are at stake in your every decision.
Nicol must be thinking that his command made their lord suffer! He must be shaken to the point that he seems to be totally out of it.
Legland is about to console his old friend but he stops midway. He remembered that this friend of his is as stubborn as a bull. The head sentinel shrugged his shoulders.
Nicol is someone who can get on the right track without anyone's help. He is that focused and smart.
Legland turned and as he walked away, he saw the blackened face of the moon elf lord's servant, Olyn.
The bearer viciously ripped a wild forest dog into two with his two hands. His eyes trailed on the monstrous pair of gauntlets that the servant is wearing. The gauntlets are made of tough stones and carved with horrendously sharp claws.
It looks terrible and beastly with the fresh red blood dripping from the pointy nails.
And this bearer is supposedly weak-looking and gentle.
Legland paused for a while and made a silent decision.
The head sentinel decided to warn his son not to mess with the bearer in the future.
Legland looked at the leaf-covered sky, he can feel that tingling feeling cursing to his entirety. It was a feeling that touches deep down his spirit.
It is only about two days since the disappearance of the moon elf lord.
Legland knows that the waves are changing its course, sweeping everyone silently.
'Please be safe, my Lord.'
So the group marched out of the middle circle
However, they realized that they were bound to make an important decision when they found something ominous in the tunnel's entrance.
And this is just the prelude of the coming changes.
Who dares! Who dares to send me 20 summoning pen?! Just kidding. I honestly feel touched since you are anticipating my story.
So here is a bonus chapter.
I also missed the Olyn, Nicol, Legland and Rion so I made this.
PS. Will you send me a bit of motivation. ;)
