Theodore Doldrum: The Mage's Apprentice

Anya Hayhurst, an orphaned young girl, is approached one day by a mysterious man offering her the chance to sell her rights as a living creature in exchange for a new, unknown life to replace her life she views as a mistake.

She agrees.


Never did she believe she would be bought by Theodore Doldrum, who shows her and teacher her all manner of magical things. Who takes her under his wing to help her control her powers, and reveals a new world beyond our own, the man who is the mage, and she his apprentice.



(This is what I call a practise narrative, to test my quality of writing. It does have a strong parallel to the anime/manga of The Ancient Magnus Bride (which I highly recommend) but with my own little twist and minor differences. As stated, I found the material good practice to harness my own writing skill to. It is not vital to have watched the anime to understand this, or vice versa. Hope you enjoy. )
