Capítulo 6: Chapter 6 : 'Farewell' Atlanta

"You ready?"

"Yeah, Let's go"

Lee and Natasha stood in a House's backyard, Planning to jump the wall and get into the forest.

After their attempts to find a suitable car proved unsuccessful, they opted for a bold and daring strategy that carried significant risks.

"You sure you up for this"

Natasha glanced over at Lee, her brow furrowing with concern. This was the third or fourth time she had asked him, but a few moments ago, she had caught a glimpse of him groaning in pain, and it sent a ripple of worry through her. She could see the distress etched across his face, and doubts began to creep in. Was he really ready for this? Her heart sank; she felt trapped between her concern for him and the urgency of their situation. Time was slipping away, and she didn't have many options left.

With a sense of urgency coursing through her veins, she felt a desperate need to reach her daughter without delay. Every ticking second felt like an eternity, and in her mind, there was only one feasible choice: Lee. He was her last hope, the only option left that could bridge the distance between them and bring her to her daughter's side swiftly.

"Totally"

Lee wasted no time as he expertly scaled the sturdy wooden wall, his movements fluid and confident. He offered his hand to Natasha, who paused for a brief moment, studying him intently. In that fleeting glance, she felt a flicker of hope igniting within her, a small comfort amid the storm of her worries for her daughter.

As she grasped his hand, Natasha couldn't shake the sense that something had shifted within him. After that brief two-minute slumber, his striking blue eyes appeared to shimmer with an intensity that was almost mesmerizing. He seemed more captivating than ever, exuding a charm that tempted her to forget her troubles, even if just for a moment. Yet, the weight of her concerns for her daughter anchored her thoughts, compelling her to maintain her focus on the immediate task at hand.

With determined resolve, she climbed the wall, her heart pounding in her chest. The atmosphere around them was thick with tension, and they both could hear the distant groans echoing ominously through the forest. The noise was a reminder of the danger lurking nearby, signaling that the path ahead would be fraught with challenges. They had a long, treacherous run ahead of them to reach the safety of the road, but together, they were determined to confront whatever lay in wait.

"We jump together and watch each other's backs until we reach our destination, alright??"

Lee spoke, and at Natasha's nod, both of them jumped together.

Lee scanned his surroundings, vigilant for any potential trouble. He had received his rewards from the System, One of them was operational from the start, while some were newly acquired.

Lee was quite confident in his ability to survive in this world at that moment. His skills were exceptional, and this was only the beginning.

Lee held his knife and started walking with Natasha. Both kept looking around while making their way to the road.

As Natasha walked past a tree, she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder, which startled her. She was about to scream but quickly controlled herself and turned toward the Walker that was trying to topple over her.

Lee noticed that Natasha's weak grunt was loud enough to attract all the nearby Walkers. Normally, that little voice wouldn't be a problem, but they were currently standing in an eerily quiet forest.

Lee quickly made up his mind and aimed his pistol at the head of the walker who was attempting to bite Natasha. The situation was already dire, so it couldn't get worse. Natasha was about to confront him about firing the gun but quickly realized that it all started with her. Instead, she drew her own gun and began shooting at the walkers in their path.

Lee felt a different excitement within him. Firstly, the control he had over the guns was exhilarating for him.

Whenever he aimed with his gun, he could see a red dot in his vision. However, when he aimed correctly at the Walker, it would turn green. This was the effect of Oracle Mind.

He received reassurance while shooting; he could become the best sniper with this Skill.

Natasha had no idea about Lee's secret fascination, but she couldn't help but be captivated by the confidence with which he carried himself. His composure amidst the chaos around them was striking, and it sparked her curiosity. She found herself wondering about the experiences and adventures that had shaped him before this moment, eager to learn what had led him to this point.

Though neither of them spoke a word, they continued toward the road, shooting any walker that got in their way. It was taking longer than Lee had thought it would, Lee in Original also used this way to run in the direction of the houses

Lee was surprised by how Natasha was handling herself; it was impressive for someone who had just woken up in this messed-up world.

Lee spotted the road ahead and began climbing while Natasha provided cover. The height was a bit daunting, but Lee managed to hold onto the edge of the road and looked down.

"Natasha, jump!" he called out as he positioned himself to pull her up.

Natasha saw this and took a few steps back. With a determined run, she leaped into the air and grasped Lee's hand.

Lee and Natasha exchanged astonished glances as Lee effortlessly hoisted Natasha with surprising strength, his muscles rippling with the effort. With a confident smile, he rose to his feet and extended a helping hand, gently guiding her up from the ground. The moment was filled with an unexpected feeling of support and camaraderie.

"Shawn? Bud? Anybody there? We are at the road, Give us some signal!"

Lee stood up and pulled the Walkie-Talkie out while pointing at a Walker nearby for Natasha to kill, She immediately got to the task and shoved the knife inside the Walker's Head.

"We just arrived on the road as well, Can you see the light?"

Lee's brother got on the radio and tried giving them their location which failed, Lee started looking around but there was no light anywhere

"I think you're a little further towards Clementine's house back, We will move towards you and try doing the same"

Lee remained calm, no matter how unpredictable the situation. This was the reality of the world now—chaotic and unforgiving. He knew he had no choice but to adapt and accept it as his new normal.

"Will do"

Lee and Natasha set off cautiously, with Lee glancing down at the forest below, where a horde of Walkers had gathered, drawn by the noise of their earlier gunfire. Once on the road, they put aside their firearms, relying solely on knives to move silently and avoid attracting any further attention.

While walking, they spotted a car abandoned on the side of the road, a stark reminder of the chaos surrounding them. Atlanta lay in ruins, a testament to the Army's futile attempts to contain the outbreak. Despite their efforts, the military's actions only escalated the destruction, shattering countless homes and endangering even more lives in the city.

Lee approached the car cautiously, his eyes scanning its exterior. To his surprise, the vehicle was in pristine condition—its paint unscathed, windows intact, and tires still inflated. In a world where everything seemed battered and broken, finding something so untouched felt almost surreal. He ran his hand over the smooth surface of the hood, feeling a glimmer of relief wash over him. For a moment, amidst the ruin and despair, the car seemed like a lifeline, a rare stroke of luck in an unforgiving world.

They wasted no time, quickly slipping into the car without a second thought. The urgency of the moment left no room for caution—they didn't even glance at the backseat to see what it held. Survival trumped curiosity, and for now, the car was their sanctuary.

Lee reached for the plastic panel beneath the steering wheel, prying it open with practiced precision. His fingers worked quickly, stripping wires and hot-wiring the car in a matter of moments. The engine sputtered to life with a low rumble, breaking the tense silence. Natasha slid into the passenger seat beside him, her gaze fixed on Lee with a skeptical side-eye, as if silently questioning his resourcefulness—or perhaps his audacity.

"I worked in Garage before"

Lee caught Natasha's sharp gaze out of the corner of his eye and smirked faintly. Without looking up from the wires he was twisting together

"Sorry"

"Don't mention it"

The ride was uneventful, the hum of the engine and the rhythmic roll of the tires providing a brief moment of calm. That peace broke when they spotted a familiar convoy up ahead—Shawn and his family waiting for them on the side of the road.

Shawn sat in the driver's seat of his rugged pickup truck, the bed loaded with supplies and passengers. A woman Lee vaguely recognized was seated beside him, while his brother occupied the truck's open back, rifle in hand and scanning their surroundings.

Behind Shawn's truck was another car, one Lee instantly recognized as his own latest purchase, now commandeered by his father. Through the windows, Lee could see his family—Sandra holding Clementine close in the back seat, her protective arms wrapped tightly around the little girl.

Relief mixed with apprehension as Lee pulled up beside them, the weight of their shared survival pressing heavily on him.

"Shawn, Start leading the way!"

Lee didn't want to waste time with a reunion in the middle of the road. He gestured firmly at Shawn, signaling him to start leading the way. "Get moving," he commanded. Shawn, understanding the urgency, immediately fired up his engine and pulled ahead. Lee's brother, noticing the cue, signaled their father to start the car, and they began to follow.

With that, their time in Atlanta was over. The city, now a memory of chaos and destruction, faded in the rearview mirror as they headed toward Hershel's farm. The journey would take about three hours, but Lee wasn't counting on smooth sailing. He made occasional stops along the way, always on the lookout for anything useful.
