"Why are you both so silent?" King Arthur asked, curious. He glared at his two sons one by one, alternately. "What are you hiding from me while I was bedridden in my chamber?"

Prince Max felt like choking. How dare Prince Lucas attack him at a time like this? Things were not good, and he certainly didn't want to quarrel with his father over this. He quickly responded, "Father, this is not what you are thinking—"

"Father, witnessing an execution is a gruesome sight. I believe Prince Max, who has a kind heart and sees Lord Ethan as a hero, will find it hard to forget," Prince Lucas quickly cut off, smiling calmly as if he didn't do anything wrong at all. He glanced at Prince Maximilian, displaying regret for what he had just done.

"Father, I think now is not the right time to address non-urgent matters," Prince Maximilian said, glaring at Prince Lucas with a disgusted look. "Let's focus on the problem regarding tomorrow's execution."
