Retaking Sorus from the machines had been a distant dream for every survivor. Their hopes of reclaiming the surface one day were what kept them alive through this nightmare.
It wasn't an easy victory. The Scouts, the Scrappers, the Resistance fighters, the engineers, and the technicians had all played their part in securing the district.
The dead had paved the way for the living to carry on their struggle. Many brave men and women had laid down their lives to give the other survivors a chance to regain their freedom. The losses were great, but Shane had anticipated far worse.
Despite having a substantial fighting force, the human survivors would have stood no chance against an advanced android like SAHARA. If Kevin hadn't gone after the android and taken it down, their losses would have been far more severe.
