Eleonore’s POV

I woke up in a cold sweat.

It had been a few days since my nightmares had woken me up, and I had never cherished those sleep filled nights more than I did right now. It was like when you only appreciated a clear nose when you were sick and it was all stuffy and hard to breathe.

I found myself laughing grimly at the comparison as I got out of bed and walked to the living room. The twins were still fast asleep sprawled out on the large bed in the main room, and it was easy enough to slip off of them and out of the room.

Throughout our stay here they had been the most relaxed I had ever seen them, even the air seemed peaceful and untouched by the world outside of this large little slice of heaven they had owned. I could live here for the rest of my life if I was given the opportunity—but life wasn’t easy like that.
