After talking to his brothers, Maxwell went to the waiting room.
He remained standing facing a transparent door and rang the bell ten times.
A few minutes later.
The old human servant named Damazo appeared at the other end of the transparent door. His family has been the caretaker of the castle for many centuries and they were lucky to have been spared when the three Nephilim elders transformed the castle into a cursed place. His great grandfather went to visit his parents' house in another village when the unfortunate things happened and he returned to the castle only to realized that things have changed from that moment on forward.
The number one rule is never to enter the castle if he wants to continue living and he obeyed that rule ever since that's why he and his families were still alive. "Do you have an order, Sire Maxwell?" he asked.
"Yes. Let me see the cages where my favorite pet is housed," he ordered.
"Alright, I'll come back after a few minutes, Sire," he said and he turned around going back to the door where he comes from.
Maxwell seated on the sofa and took a black pouch from the pocket of his pants. Inside are tiny black seeds, each containing a deadly poison that once mixed with food or any drinks it can turn a person ill and will get bedridden for five days, and soon that person will die.
He just needs to instruct his pet to scatter the tiny seeds into the food of Ella's Aunt and then she will get sick and die and then Ella will come to the castle to look for her sisters. It's a perfect reason for Ella to come to the castle since no one is holding her back anymore.
Maxwell grinned triumphantly.
He discovered a long time ago that he can still make his power work outside the castle... but with limited effect. Although he can't get out due to the invisible barrier burning him anytime, he can make his power manipulate anyone or any objects outside the barrier, as long it's within a few meters away from where he stood up, he can also order his bird pets as his messenger to gather information outside the castle without anyone suspecting them since they looked just like ordinary birds. He can enter the bird's eye view using his power and see what's happening outside.
But that's all there is to it, his power is limited outside the barrier, still, it's much better than nothing at all. He can't get through the barrier in his physical form or else his body will start burning and he will suffer a painful death, which is pretty much annoying!
The door opened and Damazo entered the room together with two teenagers, a girl and a boy which happens to be Damazo's grandchildren, they were holding two cages in both hands.
"Good afternoon, Sire Maxwell!" the teenagers greeted their employer in unison.
"Hello, kids! Let me see my pets!" he ordered.
The teenagers hold the cages up, in line with their employers' vision.
Maxwell looked at the four cages containing three birds each. The birds are a mixture of crows and ravens, some of them have black and white feathers and sometimes a mixture of both.
"Hello little birds..." he looked at the cages and wielded his power. A black-light appeared from Maxwell's eyes and struck the birds' bodies making them motionless while he imbedded his order in their minds.
A few minutes later, Maxwell was done imprinting his order in the minds of the birds and freed them from the clutches of his power.
The birds were now released from their paralyzed form and are now actively moving around the cages.
Maxwell opened his hand and four black pouches appeared in his palm. He stared at the black pouches wielding his power as they began floating in the air as he sends the pouches inside the cages.
"Now, my pets, go to the Browncliffe Village, find the house of Ella, and put the black seed into the food and beverage of her Aunt Margie. Make no mistakes!" Maxwell commanded.
The birds stuck their beak and claws inside the pouches to get the seed. When every one of the birds already had taken enough seeds they can carry...the door of the cages suddenly opened.
"Go...my little ones!" Maxwell barked his orders.
The crows and ravens flew out of the cages and zoomed into the direction of the Browcliffe Village to carry out the task assigned to them.
Maxwell addressed the old man and his grandchildren. "Well done, guys! I'll ring the bell when I have some task again," he said smiling pleasantly at them.
"Have a good day, Sire Maxwell," Damazo said and gestured his grandchildren to exit the room.
The teens closed the door of the cages and then followed their grandfather to the door.
Maxwell watched his human slave exited the waiting room.
Since he was already done with the birds, all he needs to do is let his pets the ravens and the crows carry on with the task he assigned to them and wait for the good result.
It would take a few days before the result will take effect.
He turned around and disappeared from the waiting room going back to his bed-chamber.
Two hours later.
He appeared inside Ivy's room.
Ivy was currently sitting on the bed, her back on the headboard, submerged in deep thoughts.
They locked eyes.
Maxwell went to her side and sat on the bed facing Ivy. "My dear...do you already have an effective plan in mind?" he asked.
Ivy blinked twice. "Yes, I have. Let me see that old woman Esmeralda, let me talk to her. Maybe I can convince her to let go of my sister so that we can start resurrecting your father as soon as possible," she requested.
Maxwell looked at her face keenly. "You don't have any other plan besides that?" he inquired.
Ivy shook her head. "None, so far. I will let you know if I can come up with anything," she replied.
"Alright, as for your first plan let me think about it. My brothers and I will discuss that matter. We will take extra precautionary measures so that your plan will work out well," he said. "Don't worry, you and your sister will get reunited soon..." he reassured her.
"Thank you, Maxwell!" she stated with a controlled smile.
"I won't stay longer to keep you company. I have to leave because I have something else to discuss with my brothers including your plan," he said and stood up and sauntered towards the door.
Ivy watched as Maxwell disappeared instantly from her line of vision. She was hoping that the vampire brothers will give her plan a chance.
If that happens, she will ask Esmeralda if she can protect Kate and her from the vampire brothers, if the old woman can guarantee her safety and that of her sister then she will no longer go back to the vampires' territory ever again.
She must talk to that old woman, Esmeralda, soon, so that she will know which sides to take!
