Chi He wanted to stay in Chi Yu's room. When the servants heard this, one of them quickly stepped forward.

"Sir had instructed before that no one should enter Miss's room, so it hasn't been tidied up for months. The bed sheets and covers have gathered dust. I'll go change the bedding."

Chi He declined and, ignoring the servant's surprised gaze, opened the door and went in.

He didn't emerge for the entire afternoon.

Later in the day, the servants sat together, chatting idly about Chi He's attitude toward Ning Jin, filled with sighs.

"At first, we thought he would treat her kindly for the sake of his late brother, but just look at his attitude."

"Do you think those rumors are true? Was it really her fault that Miss died?"
