Sally, frustrated, stood up, and angrily said "Sit there, and shut the hell up.  I am not going to put up with this and will have my say before I am going out of here for the night."

Sally threw her hands up and said "There is a need.  And don't you damn well accuse me of defending Paul.  I am not.  He pulled some despicable stunts over the years in pursuit of what he thought he wanted, rather than him being open to finding true love.  Those stunts messed with my mind, because it put me on edge, made me concerned for previous boyfriends before I realised how I felt for you and then not wanting to expose our relationship."
