"That night would have been the worst night for me because..." Maven closed his eyes, "That was the only chance I had to make it up to my best friend and make him forgive me for something that happened in the past but it failed terribly." 

"What happened then?" 

"We had a fallout. I realized how much he hates me but then... I never labeled that day as a bad one..." He raised his hand and placed it down, hesitating for a moment before he raised his hand once again and cupped her face, "Because meeting you changed it. The day was bad, life threw lemons at me but you are certainly the lemonade that I got out of it."

Claire chuckled leaning into his touch, "I don't know whether to feel touched or be offended that you called me lemonade," she paused for a moment as her gaze shifted to his lips.
