Capítulo 23: Climax
As the heroes left their cells, the man behind the pair approached them. "How dare you take away my trophies?"
Maria and Yuri turned around in synchronization as they stared at the man. "How dare you take away my family?" she retorted.
Yuri huffed as he had flames circle him. "No, not yet. Let me give some judgment before you have yours, Lunatic" she looked at him, practically begging him.
The male stayed back, letting the flames calm down, but still giving off his blue glow. Maria stared at the clones and let herself glow blue. She smiled and ran at each of the clones, punching them with her kinetic forces. She hit each of them, not doing much. "Find the real one" Yuri called out.
This caused Maria to glare at each of the clones, holding small coins. "Screw finding the real one, this will get anything and everything," that she tossed the coins and as they landed she backed up, snapping her fingers.
This caused the clones as well as the man to back up in surprise. They were also harmed as most of the clones disappeared. Yuri chuckled at this, paying attention to the fight. What they didn't realize was that the heroes were walking towards them to watch the fight go on. Maria huffed as she walked up to the clones again and held her hands out. They were glowing as she started to punch the clones in rapid fury. Each time she contacted something, there was an explosion that would send the clone away and push her to another. This caused the heroes to be amazed as they never knew her true abilities as a NEXT, only that she can use items to help; however, now she was using her bare hands.
Each clone that was hit had fallen over until there was only a small handful left. Maria grabbed at a pipe that matched the staff she had as a hero. She smirked as she twisted it around and sent energy out to elongate it. She rushed, again, at the remaining clones and hoping she would finally show the real villain.
During this, Barnaby and Kotetsu looked at Yuri and rushed at him. The three started to fight with each other, which caused the other heroes to be in a stupor. They didn't know what to do, whether to watch Maria make sure she was alright or to watch the Tiger and Bunny fight the blue-flamed man. "Twisted, finding the real one would be helpful, especially now!"
Maria growled slightly as she slammed the 'staff' on the ground to send the clones back as well as the real man. The clones fell over and seemed to disappear as the lone man stood there, confused and in horror as to what had happened. "You caused a lot of trouble. You deserve to be arrested, but that's why Lunatic is here. So I don't have to deal with you again. Yes I want to be a hero, but there are times where I believe revenge is best served when the bad guy is dead"
The heroes watched her and gave wide eyes as her tone changed from kind and soft to harsh and loud. She meant business. Yuri walked by the two who were fighting him and held his crossbow aimed at the male. "Hear the voice of Thanos!" was all that was heard or said as the flaming arrow pierced the skull and there was a ringing of a scream.
The man was gone and before the heroes could get mad at Yuri, he was gone. Maria stood there, holding her waist and shaking. "We should head back to the tower…"
"What do you mean, we?" Barnaby spoke out.
"You let a villain kill a man" The voice of Karina.
"How could you let him do that?" Pao-Lin.
"Don't come back with us…" the trailed-off voice of a betrayed Kotetsu.
Maria stood there, hearing the footsteps of the heroes fade away. Nathan, Antonio, Keith, and Ivan never said anything to her. She frowned as she dropped to her knees and let out a frustrated scream of pain mixed with sorrow. She betrayed the heroes, but she was being an anti-hero. She saved them. Yes, she let Yuri kill him, but he was also a man who was the ring leader to that warehouse she hunted down. Why couldn't they let her explain?
It started to storm outside. The female was alone and terrified as she started to cry. Was there a way to gain forgiveness? Through all of this, only one person came to mind that she could at least attempt to talk to. Kaede Kaburagi, the daughter of Kotetsu and also a NEXT.
