As the sun was about to rise, in the slum area in West Wilderth City.
Mathius was staring at his bedroom wall in a daze. He had previously been the Vice - Guild leader of Moon Elclipse, a first rank guild. The night before he had just gone on a unsuccessful raid with his guild mates and decided to call it a night before awaking to find himself in the house he rented almost ten years ago.
As he was still in the process of trying to understand how he got there, the front door opened.
"Big bro, why haven't you been answering your phone?"
It was one of Mathius's oldest friends. They had known each other since pre-school. He walked in the room with great urgency like he had a huge issue on his hands.
"Brother fatty, what's the problem? Has someone messed with you?"
Mathius was still greatly confused by his situation but was instantly ready to help one of his closest friends.
"What, no. Today was the launch of the VR gear from Limitless Coperations. We agreed to both get a pair today and become professional gamers."
Bei Lei (Mathius's best friends real name) was very confused with his close mates behaviour.
Didn't we agree to get the VR gear today? He was super hyped for it yesterday, could he have really forgotten about it?
Mathius took a few seconds to process what Bei Lei had said to him. Limitless Corperations? VR gear? Become professional Gamers? He frowned his eyebrows, before coming to a scary conclusion making his heart tremble.
"Brother fatty, what year is it?'
"Are you alright Big bro. I understand not remembering the day, but the year?" Bei Lei was incredibly confused with with his friends behaviour. Is he he ill or something?
"It's 2221, obviously."
Mathius's heart went through a great tribulation. He was nine years into the past. Was he he being pranked on? Was this gods doing? His mind was spiralling to to find a logical answer to his very peculiar situation.
As he was on the brink of insanity, he had an epiphany. He now had a second chance to re-do all his regrets and get revenge on anyone who had ever wronged him. This might have been the best thing to ever happen to him.
The most frightening thing of all though, was his nine years of indepth experience of the game produced by Limitless Corperations. "INFINITE REALMS". It was a game that took the world by storm and grabbed the attention of all of Gaia's Powers. After a mere three months, all Nations wanted a piece of the pie. It had become humans second world and in some ways even surpassed the influence of the Top Nations.
Mathius was still having an inner monologue with himself before Bei Lei called out to him again.
"Big bro, we have go before all the VR gears gets sold out."
He was then brought out of his deep thinking.
"Alright Bei Lei, we'll leave now."
Mathius had decided in that moment to never tell anyone about his time travel situation. It was a secret too vital to his plan for world domination and he was certain that if he told anyone, his next stop would be a mental asylum.
Mathius and Bei Lei arrived at the the store twenty minutes later, Deluxe Game Center, one of the few game stores in the slum area of West Wilderth City. The VR gear designed by Limitless Corperations was incredibly cheap and for this reason alone even though they were in the slums the queue was so long it reached another street.
They waited patiently for a few hours, so prolonged that the sun was beginning to come out. The two brothers were about to enter the store before being stopped by someone.
He wore designer clothes and puffed his his chest out arrogantly. It didn't take a genius to tell he was some sort of young master from an influential family.
"Scram before me, I'll be taking your place in the line."
It didn't take long for Mathius to remember this encounter. It had happened to him before! Who knew his knowledge of the future would become handy so quickly.
He was the 3rd son of Sir Henry Regel. Although his family was not very influential in the upper areas of the city, it was more than enough in the slums. He had repeatedly terrorised the people who live there and get away with it just because of his lineage.
In the past, Mathius and Bei Lei had to lower their heads and leave while he went in the store to by the VR gear.
Both brothers ended up getting the VR equipment late by a whole week, from them being out of stock, greatly slowing there progress as people were already higher leveled in the game.
"And what if we don't want to go."
Everyone who was close enough to hear were greatly shocked, including Bei Lei.
"Bro, I think we should just leave."
"Brother fatty, we were here first. He should be the one to scram." Mathius then proceeded to turn to the young master again.
"NOW F*CKING SCRAM BEFORE ME IMP!!!"
The whole street that was filled with people waiting to get a VR gear went silent. So quiet that a pin drop would have sounded like thunder.
The young master was trembling with anger, not even his father had shouted at him in his entire life.
The crowd was even more stunned. It was easy to see by his clothing that Mathius was from the slums but he still dared to disrespect the young master like that, he was clearly signing his death warrant.
"Is he insane, he's clearly from the slums but still disrepects young master Regel like that."
"He's obviously a dead man walking."
"What do you think the young master is going to do to him?"
"How long do you reckon he has to live?"
The whole crowd was now watching in amusement and intrest on what was going to happen next between the madman and the young master.
"You better watch your back, tramp."
Mathius stood there calmly like everything was in his control. The young master walked away, much to his expectation.
"Why did you do that, Big bro? He'll make your life so much harder in the slums."
Bei Lei was once again greatly confused by his best friends actions. He was never so hot-headed before. It was like Mathius had turned into a completely different person.
"Don't worry about it."
Mathius didn't bother explaining to Bei Lei his actions. Before coming back to the past, although not the strongest he was very influential in "INFINITE REALMS" giving him his own pride. He refused to be stepped on by a mere young master of West Wilderth City.
Although worried for his friend, Bei Lei did not press for an answer but followed Mathius into the store not knowing his friend had changed into someone who would make storms around the the world in the near future.
This is my first ever attempt to create a story. I've read quite a few on the site and decide to have a go. Suggestions on how the story should go and some nice criticism would be much appreciated. :)
