"So, how did it go?" Joan asked Drake over the phone as she lay on her bed, belly down with both legs suspended mid-air.
Drake smiled. "She is your best friend; why don't you ask her? I'm sure she must have told you something, though."
"We actually haven't had time to talk all day, so you can just tell me how things were from your own perspective, and then when I speak with her, she can tell me from her own perspective," Joan said with a flourish and Drake couldn't help but smile.
In the past week, they had been out twice, once to Nicole's father's party and another for a quiet dinner, and he had to admit that the more time he spent with her, be it in person or over the phone, the more time he wanted to spend with her.
"Well, she took me over to see her parents, and then her father and I got along really well like we have known each other all our life. I think she was surprised by it, though, but somehow I wasn't," Drake said.
