Capítulo 29: Chapter 29: Fiddleford Hadron McGucket

Leylin Farlier's POV

"This place is a spaceship. I could move much faster if I can get it back in working order," I roughly explained to Willow about this place.

I came here to obtain the famous glue capable of gluing space-time, but also to try to steal alien technology. Ford built his portal using electronic parts from this place.

This shows that Ford's portal would possibly be impossible to create for a human like him without this place.

"It's huge," Willow muttered, looking around. It seems that science surprises her more and more.

I wonder what face she'll make when I bring "Old Man" McGucket with me to the island. It's a shame I can't guarantee Ford's coming with me.

"Watch out, this thing is a trap," I explained to Willow in front of a beam of light on the ground.

"This place is eerie. Why are they all dead even though the ship is still slightly intact inside?" she said, frowning.

"There are several possible reasons, like the air on Earth not being good for them or the lack of food, but we'll know someday," I said as I approached a strange skeleton on the ground.

"Are you sure you can contact its soul? This skeleton seems to have been dead for years, even centuries," there was clearly doubt in Willow's voice, and it was understandable.

A soul isn't supposed to stay long on Earth, only those with strong grudges can stay for long periods in our world.

Of course, there are special cases, and I hope these aliens will meet the conditions to be exceptions to the rule.

"Trust me, I'll try to contact them, and if I fail, I'll have to come back here with one or two people," I said, thinking of a certain supernatural AI.

I started playing my music. I use Orpheus' music since I'm trying to contact resentful spirits that haven't found peace.

I had no sign of spiritual beings for a while, but when I was about to give up, I saw a small green will-o'-the-wisp.

It's the remnant of a spirit, it has almost no intelligence, but I think I can read and access its information if I can put it in a potara.

"You see, Willow, you always have to try something. Life is damn surprising," I said, putting the spirit's remnant into the potara's crystal ball before using it to access its knowledge.

The information is fragmented and disordered, but I was able to understand some essential elements such as the basic workings of the ship and their language.

The soul I was able to contact must have belonged to a high-ranking person given certain information like access codes and such.

"Leylin, were you able to get something?" Willow asked, looking at me. It seems she's impatient to know.

"Yes, I learned these creatures' language and some basic stuff, but I still don't know much about their technology," I said, sighing a little.

I'll have to study a lot, but thanks to their language, I'll be able to make a lot of progress with Ford and McGucket.

"We can leave, I found the glue and the rest of the things here are useless to me for now," I declared, heading towards the exit with a strange substance floating in the air thanks to telekinesis.

....

"Are you sure you want to pay so much for this game?" the woman at the reception asked skeptically.

"Yes, I really love these kinds of games," I said, trying to keep a serious face.

I had currently returned to town. I was able to recover a lot of things in the forest like the crystal that can shrink or enlarge everything and even unicorn mane.

For the latter, it was surprisingly easy with Willow. I also searched for the "Percepshroom" but unfortunately, I could only find one.

It seems to be something extremely rare, which makes sense because if a pig could become smart enough to create a machine to understand the universe, then this object would be super dangerous if it were common in the forest.

Just imagine a bunch of extremely intelligent pigs capable of creating laser guns in a few hours and they discover that humans eat bacon almost every morning for breakfast, this idea is terrifying.

"Thank you, you can keep the rest," I said, leaving with Willow.

I was currently under an illusion to look like a human, and Willow was wearing clothes from the human world, but she has the mask I gave her.

"Why was the saleswoman looking at us weirdly, and you in particular?" she asked. I could feel she was annoyed.

"It's simple, I bought a game usually bought by perverts or people who feel very lonely," I explained as we arrived at a supermarket.

"Why did you do that?" Willow was looking at me, without knowing it, similarly to the saleswoman.

"Did you forget we're in an abnormal town? You even recently fought that giant in the woods," I said, referring to the "Stomach-Faced Ducks" we encountered by chance when heading to the unicorn clearing.

"I have to admit that if I had fought that giant when I first arrived in this world, I'm not sure I would have beaten it, haha," she said, laughing, but the truth is that the giant was just humiliated.

He couldn't distinguish Willow among her illusory clones, and with the help of her new strength, Willow was able to shred the giant without him being able to touch her.

"You need to go back to the base first with all this, I'm going to look for someone," I explained, walking towards McGucket's residence.

*knock knock*

"Yes, who are you?" asked a man in his thirties.

"Hello, I'm looking for 'Old Man' McGucket," I said honestly.

"My God, what has he done now?" the man muttered tiredly before turning his attention back to me.

"Listen, I don't know why you're looking for him, but I'm not responsible for his actions," he said firmly before trying to close the door.

Of course, I blocked the door with my foot before it closed.

"Sorry, I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm not looking for Mr. McGucket to harm him, but to offer him a job," I explained in a relaxed tone.

"A job? From a kid?" he said doubtfully. I sometimes forget I'm only 12 years old.

"I'm just a courier, I'm just going to inform him and note his decision to inform my employer," I quickly told a lie. I prefer not to mess with a mad scientist's family, but if he's not cooperative, I'll have to search for the information myself in his mind.

"Okay, you can find him..." the man began to explain Fiddleford Hadron McGucket's location to me.

"Thank you very much." After expressing my sincerity, I left for a place similar to a junkyard.

I could see him upon arrival, an old man welding on a pile of scrap metal.

"Excuse me, sir, are you Fiddleford Hadron McGucket?" I asked as a formality.

"Yes! Haha!" he replied enthusiastically before turning to me.

"I'll be direct with you. I want to employ your services and I pay well," I said, smiling.

This man created a giant robot in a few hours to face Bill Cipher, and I specify that he just watched anime to get an idea, I also specify that he no longer had his memories.

I have before me a true genius who has nothing to envy Ford Pines, and I would even say he is his equal.
