Capítulo 38: Chapter 38: Finding the Rose

“The Mordhas family was one of the first families settled in this area,” David said in a knowledgeable voice. “Over the years, certain families have donated articles to the church, and they were one of them.”

David looked at Rhea over his glasses and seeing she knew this information, nodded for her to follow. They proceeded to the cathedral’s inner library, where Rhea had come before, and continued on into the room beyond the roped-off door.

“Stand back, please,” the artifact manager pushed his glasses up higher on his nose and placed his hands along a vertical ridge on the dark wood wall. He pushed, and the wall seemed to slide sideways, revealing a hallway lined with six narrow closets. Each of the closets had a lock, and David reached up to a hook beside the third door on the left and removed an old skeleton key.

Rhea couldn’t help but laugh, “I wasn’t expecting such a high tech locking system.”
