Alex waited for the soldiers to finish what they were doing, and as he waited, he was still trying to figure out what they were doing wrong that would make Xander curse out.

The only thing he could point out that might have been wrong was them taking the properties of the dead before throwing them in a ditch.

When they started making their way towards the camp and noticed that Alex was following behind them, they were first skeptical but chose to continue by increasing their pace. They still thought that Alex was an outsider and they noticed the blood that was on his clothes.

In their minds, every powerful person in their camp was known to them, and after observing Alex's face, they were certain that he wasn't one of them.

Since they didn't think that they had the ability to go against Alex, none of them voiced their worries, believing that if Alex wasn't a part of their camp, he wouldn't have the guts to follow them in.
