After what felt like forever, they finally arrived at another door. Then another…. And another….
"How come there are so many doors?" Matthew asked.
"How should I know? Are you tired? You can put me down since— "
"Shhh…."
Ava pursed her lips as if she had swallowed a lemon rind. She wanted to say a lot of things, act irritated but she doesn't have any valid reason to. Ava didn't want to act childish in front of a thousand-year-old demon!
All she could do was pretend that this didn't bother her at all.
"Glad you could come…"
The two stopped walking when they heard an older man's voice not far away from them. They quickly realized that it was coming from a mirror.
"Do I even have the choice?" Ulva retorted, her voice cold. Ava didn't need to see her face beneath her hood to know that she was already scowling because of what the man said.
"Why did you convene this meeting?" Ulva asked. "Did something happen?"
