Annalise looked out the window of the carriage as it moved to escape the awkwardness that came with riding with Rafael. There was nothing to say and she didn't want to look his way to avoid meeting his eyes. So, she kept looking out the window, taking in the sight of the town.
Annalise would always only go to the market on days she did not have to work so she was enjoying the free ride to look at more of the town. Her happiness was cut short when she remembered that Beatrice lived four houses away from Rafael.
If not for how big the homes were and the land that separated them, Annalise thought they could have walked here instead of using the carriage. Another day when the ground wasn't so wet because of all the rain that had fallen and the sun wasn't so hot as it tried to dry up the rain, they could walk.
