Capítulo 16: Feeling Better
My sleep was spent peacefully, for now anyway, but I knew deep down inside the horror would come flooding back. I yawned and spread my arms widely across my cold blanket, which felt great. I rubbed my eyes and opened them, blinking a few times to proper my vision.
"Marissa, Are yo'/;.
u awake?" Ella asked softly.
"Yes," I managed to speak. She came in with a tray in between her hands. My breakfast.
"What happened? You missed breakfast for the very first time," she pointed out. Ella carefully put the tray onto my lap.
"I guess I was really tired" I shrugged. She nodded, understanding my situation.
"Are the Enigmars gone?" I whispered breathlessly. Oh please fate! Make them go away! Ella hit me over the shoulder.
"Of course they haven't!" she exclaimed.
Oh my goodness.
"Aren't they leaving?" I asked pleadingly.
She rolled her eyes. "What do you want me to do? Take their suitcases and throw them out and tell them to never come back?" she snorted.
"Sure that'll work."
I sighed dramatically.
"At least it would insult their existence," I mumbled.
Ella laughed and looked kindly at me. "Oh Marissa, maybe you can... I don't know- change his way of life with others... You know after you are married and..." she sighed sadly before continuing on. "You get what I mean, right?" she asked me hopefully.
I nodded. I knew what she meant, but changing his character was nearly impossible. No one can change him or his arrogant attitude.
With Ella here I suddenly remembered something.
"Was it true?" I questioned, eyeing her warily. She shifted her steps; she knew I was on a role.
"I don't know..." said Ella in a small voice.
"Who is it?" I asked her calmly. I picked flaky croissant, which dripped with soft yellow butter, and took a bite, feeling the warmness on my tongue.
"I told you I don't know" she frowned.
"Look, lying isn't getting you anywhere so the best thing you can do is answer my question." I crossed my arms over my chest and gave her a stern look.
"Look sister! I don't know. If anyone's involved in this it's Nora!" she raged.
"And to say you didn't know" I mimicked. She burst out from my room, slamming the door behind her. I jumped at the loud banging noise that it made.
Well, that was a job well done
