Harry looks so much like his father.
"Hannah Abbot!"
Minerva calls the first name on the list, and a young blond girl comes out of the crowd and walks up to The Sorting Hat. Minerva lifts it, and the hat is placed on her head. The sorting hat talks about her qualities and ambitions and, after a couple of seconds, shouts Hufflepuff.
The table claps loudly and cheers. The hat is removed, and the girl leaves for her house's table smilingly. Her house robes are changing to Hufflepuff. Minerva looks at the paper again.
"Alexander Aevum!"
I move slightly in my seat. He comes out of the crowd of first years, and I've noticed he's a couple of inches taller than most his age. He slowly approaches the stool, and Minerva lifts the hat. She slowly lowers the hat on Alexander's head and stays quiet.

My... This boy's mental defenses are incredible. In all my years of sorting first years, I've never met a student to give me such trouble. After a few more attempts, I find my way in.
I look through his perfectly organized memories and see him alone most of the time. Reading, learning as much as he can. However, there are other memories here.
This one, the one where he saved a close person named Bella. He's incredibly smart and cunning. Able to form plans and solve complex problems.
Very Slytherin.
So far, he has the qualities to be in all houses. He has bravery like a Gryffindor. Intellect and learning like a Ravenclaw. Cunning and a natural leader like a Slytherin. A loner and misfit like a Hufflepuff. Truly difficult indeed.
I search for other things, such as blood status, and from what I can tell, he's Pureblood. I've never encountered an Aevum before. He must have been given a different surname after he was born.
Why he did, I don't know.
I look through his encounters with people and how he's treated them and been treated. I come to the earliest memory to start my search, and all I can see is the symbol of The Deathly Hallows.
It's acting as a lock. I can't access this memory. It's been blocked by some outside influence.
"Sorting Hat?"
I hear the voice of the Deputy Headmistress. I shush her as I continue. Some of the kids laugh at me, shushing the Deputy Headmistress. In all honesty, I don't know where to place him.
His memories of the Headmaster make sense. Albus took a particular interest in the boy. Sees his unlimited potential.
I might as well make them from the same house. However, I should ask Alex himself.
"Alexander."
My voice rings out across the hall.
"Which house do you want to be in?"
Many begin to whisper at my words, and so do the teachers. Albus is on the edge of his seat. I may not have eyes. I can still see, though.

I get to pick what house I want. So the rumor was true, if you fit multiple houses, you can choose which one you want.
In all truth, any house will fit my needs, and nothing will hinder my learning and growth. So it comes down to my potential for allies and friends.
A loyalty I can find nowhere else. A trust I can depend on that leaves Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Albus was in Gryffindor, and he has been my best friend.
"I want to be in Gryffindor."
I answer for all to hear, and The Sorting Hat hums to itself.
It fiddles around on my head for a second.
"Gryffindor, it is then!!!"
It shouts through the great hall for all to hear. I get warm cheers and applause from all the Gryffindors. I turn and see Albus smiling and clapping along with everyone else. I have a good feeling about this choice.
