Capítulo 47: Superhuman
Neon passed the ball to heath who passed it back to their captain.
This took Nico by surprise. Galaxy stars was passing the ball backwards instead of passing it forward, which soccer team suddenly stopped an attack and drew back?
The pot-bellied Galaxy star's coach had a grin on his face as he muttered to himself.
…And now, the bomb!
Stanley suddenly released an unexpected pass that flew confidently into their opponent's halve.
The ball moved very fast and it really caught Krystal Fc players off guard. Just when they were looking to come out of their defensive lines, a pass suddenly blew past them.
In Bice's hurry to react, he ended up slipping and falling to the floor, leaving the purple haired Asher whom he was marking open.
Surprisingly, Asher managed to control the speedy pass.
Neo was panicked. Shit! Everyone! Defense! Now!
With the coordination and swift response of Galaxy stars to their last play, it was obvious that this wasn't their first time pulling such a trick.
Nico was unmoving, his experience had already told him that something was up, and this didn't really take him by surprise. His last hope rested on one player who was connoting something that would change the outcome of this match.
Nico's face tightened as he saw the dismembering passes that were throwing his player off balance.
Adrienne…how much longer do you need…? How much longer will it take you to…to…use the Grid?
Asher dibbled the ball forward with such confidence. He was like a wolf in the midst of many sheep, and he dribbled them so angrily.
When he had emptied his area of any standing Krystal Fc player, he crossed the ball over to Destiny.
Just as the cross left his leg, someone appeared in front of him, or rather, a leg appeared in front of him.
Thud!
The cross hit Adrienne's legs.
Damn! Adrienne gritted his teeth. It wasn't enough!
And truly, it wasn't enough as the cross still found its way to Destiny Xavi.
I won't let you!!!
Eric shouted as he ran towards Destiny.
Destiny grimaced a little at Eric's loudness. Why so loud? Destiny asked coldly as he spun around.
Kneel.
While saying this, Destiny took a little step over and cut the ball to Eric's behind.
Eric tried to turn around, but his knees just wouldn't budge, but because of his reaction speed, much strain was placed on his knees and this totally threw Eric off balance.
Eric had a widened eyes and a constricted pupils as his knees buckled and he dropped to his knees.
Destiny released a well placed shot to the top corner of the post. Zuri was rooted to a spot. only his head mnaged to trail the ball as it struck the back of the net so powerfully.
GOALLL!!!
Galaxy stars fans celebrated joyously. Even though the goal had come a little later than expected, it was still a goal, an a magnificent one at that.
The Goal had come on the 21st minute.
Despite just conceding a goal, Nico wasn't looking very downcast.
Nico adjusted his sleeves as he stared on intently at the players. There is still hope.
Adrienne took in a deep breath. He's not unstoppable after all, I can stop him. just a little more time, I can stop him.
Asher furrowed his brows as he ran backwards, staring at Adrienne. where did he come from earlier? I was certain no one was around. even with my clockview, I couldn't still pick him up, is he some ghost or something...? Or wait! Did he come from my blindspot? That's very unlikely, to enter my blindspot you have to be extremely observant...
Asher's mind was in a frenzy as that last sudden block by Adrienne scared him. Even though Adrienne was too late and the cross still went in, Asher was unsettled because his mnd told him that Adrienne might not be so unsuccessful next time.
Asher's blindspot wasn't where normal people had theirs. His clockview made him have a very wide range of vision and he could even see behind him, his vision was almst 360 degrees, but just at the middle of his back where he couldn't see.
But with Adrienne's ability which he had honed for twenty one days, picking up one's blindspot was as easy as abc. Adrienne had successfully been able to see the entire field at the same time with his Grid vision, regardless of which part of the field that he was in.
It was a little messy for now, but Adrienne could tell what everyone were doing at the moment by interpreting the sounds which they made, and judging by their heart beats and breathing pattern, he could tell what they intended on doing. A normal person can't achieve this because they can't hear breaths or sounds from faraway, but it was possible for Adrienne to pick up these sounds because he had always had a superior hearing ability. So for the twenty one days, the main thing Aesop learnt was how to interpret sounds. It wasn't perfect yet, but it would soon be.
Adrienne was finally glad for his misfits, it had become a blessing. But when he was younger, Adrienne found it very hard to concentrate, because he was easily distracted by unnecessary sounds. It was a miracle how he still managed to pass his exams and get promoted.
Soon the match restarted and the ball was in Eric's possession. Eric passed the ball Bice who easily found Adrienne.
Aesop raised his hands to call for a pass, he was a bit free. No body was marking him, the defenders had chosen to mark Cai and Mark, but they stuck a bit close to Aesop.
Swoosh!
Adrienne released the pass. Divine smiled. Gotchya!
Divine quickly changed his mark from Cai and he dashed towards Aesop, and started pressuring Aesop, trying to shake his balance and stop him from getting the high pass.
Adrienne shook his head. Did you think I won't see that? I see all and I interpret all sounds, right now...
....I am the Grid Lord!
With that, Divine was met with shock as the ball flew past Aesop and headed for Cai.
