Krystal Fc smiled excitedly as they watched Kelechi Bright approach them.
On sighting Neo, Kelechi waved and started walking towards him.
They explained the formation and strategy to Kelechi and he was ready to play. There was no referee, but again, they didn't want to foul each other and even if they did commit a foul, they trusted each other to be mature enough to admit that it was a foul. It wasn't a very good thing, but they hoped it would work out.
The six vs six, Marbles vs Krystal Fc had officially begun.
The kickoff was started by Kelechi.
The moment the pass was released, Walter, Soma and Alf all rushed towards the ball while Zoe and Berry stayed beside each other, unmoving.
On a closer look, you would observe that Marbles was playing a 2-1-2 formation. While krystal Fc was playing a 1-3-1 formation.
Eric sent a looping backspin pass towards Aesop. They wanted to execute a bit of what they had just practiced.
Aesop took to the skies and brought the ball down with his chest. While Aesop was still in the air, Kelechi suddenly ran past him.
Aesop used his backheel to give a through pass to Kelechi.
Kelechi's first touch led the ball towards the outer of the goalpost.
Harry lazied towards the end of the post, Limiting Kelechi's options and effectiveness.
Even though it was clear that Harry chose to do the things that wouldn't stress him, his actions still proved effective and it showed brains.
Tired brains.
And Kelechi was sure to exploit that.
The only plausible option for Kelechi was to Move farther away from the post and divert even more to the outer part of the eighteen yard box.
But who are we to dictate plays to the guardian?
Kelechi looked downwards, he stared straight at the ball so his intentions wouldn't be known.
Kelechi put his peripheral vision to use. The corners of his eyes did the main job of seeing, and Kelechi's main attention was what the peripheral vision was seeing.
Kelechi raised his leg, as if to give a cross to the other edge of the box.
Harry stood unmoving, staring at Kelechi as if he could see right through Kelechi.
And he could, But seeing didn't mean reacting.
Kelechi hit the ball with the edge of his foot and the ball looped forward.
It was a beautiful chip and a spectacular finish as the ball found the back of the net.
Harry didn't even dive. Harry stared at the ball as it passed him, to save the ball, Harry wouldn't even need to stretch to his limit, but he just chose to abandon it in total.
Neo and his teammates stared at Harry, irriatated by his lackadaisical behaviour. But Harry's teammates really didn't mind as they readied themselves for another kickoff.
The celebation wasn't much. Kelechi simply bumped fists with Aesop and they both went back to their positions.
The score was 1:0. Krystal Fc was leading.
Thomp!
Soma kicked the ball for the kickoff.
But something weird happened. Soma didn't pass the ball to his teammates, rather, the ball went into his opponent's halve at high speed.
Zuri gritted his teeth as he saw the ball flying towards him, spining rapidly.
Zuri felt a tinge of anger. Why the hell would he shoot directly? Why not just pass the ball and attack like a normal team?
Zuri gritted his teeth even more when he was now on full stretch, but it wasn't still clear that he was going to make the save.
Zuri managed to get a hand to the ball, knockin it away for a corner kick.
Yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Zuri clenched his fists and roared is excitement to the sky.
Neo's eyes subconsciosly darted in Soma's direction.
Neo couldn't help but feel a buzzing fighting spirit.
Soma passed the ball to Alf who closest to him.
Alf turned around, only to see that all route to pass the ball had been blocked. The only option was to cross the ball into the penalty area or drible forward and try to create a chance to score a goal or at least a passing opprtunity.
Alf moved the ball a bit and let it roll slowly, then he crossed his legs over the ball repeatedly at high speed.
Neo who marked him felt his vision almost spin. Where would he go? Left or right?
Left!
Neo chose to block the left and he also chose to block the wrong place.
It was a beautiful sight how he was easily dribbled by Alf who went in the right direction.
Before Alf could move any further, he was blocked by 206cm tall guardian.
Alf quickly passed the ball behind himsef. The ball nutmegged Neo who was just recovering and planning to face Alf again.
Neo turned around immediately to face Soma who Alf passd the ball to, Neo was once again faced with disappointment as Soma controlled the ball and let it run past Neo.
Soma quickly escaped Neo too. Neo turned around involuntarily and he ended up falling heavily to the floor.
Soma passed the ball back to Alf who was being marked by Kelechi. But Alf didn't even flinch, Alf's first touch was to pass a through ball back to Soma.
Soma didn't bother with controlling the ball, he just hit with perfect precision and the ball flew upwards and curved sweetly towards the far end of the post.
Zuri kept his guard very high as he followed the trajectory of the cross.
The ball found one half of the twin tower.
Berry took to the sky, Overpowering all the Krystal Fc defender's that were marking him.
Ughh!
Zuri groaned as he fell to the floor, but he didn't fall disappointedly, He fell with pride.
Zuri had gotten a strong right hand to the ball and the ball was repelled back into the crowd.
Unfortunately enough, the ball fell to the second half of the twin tower.
Zoe didn't wait for the ball to land before he raised his leg to perform a crazy volley.
Just as Zoe's leg was about to touch the ball, Eric appeared in front of him, leg outstretched and ready to block the shot.
But in the next moment, Zoe took a soft touch, moving the ball away from Eric and acompletely sending him in the wrong direction.
Neo slid towards the ball as Zoe was of balance.
Shocking enough, Zoe delivered another soft touch to the ball, making it go high and over Neo.
Zoe released the shot, his defender liabilities kicked in and he missed his shot.
Just when Krystal Fc's players were about to take a deep breath, The worst happened.
Dashing through the crowd was the silent man, Walter.
Walter used the slippery grass to his advantage as he slid towards the ball.
His luck shone and Walter got a leg to the ball. But it wasn't directed to the post.
Zuri sighed happily as he covered the area where he stood.
Walter's ball looped high and it went towards the penalty spot.
Zoe suddenly appeared in the sky, heading the pall past the goalkeeper in a clinical finish.
