Capítulo 10: Chapter Ten: Lost Echoes.

"Sometimes, the pain of loss can fuel the flames of hatred, even towards those we loved. But in that darkness, there may still be a flicker of hope, a possibility that what we've lost isn't truly gone"

-Unknown

"Where's Marcus?!" Nick demanded, fear evident in his voice as he confronted Marcus' father, the Alpha.

"Nick...?" The Alpha uttered his name slowly, his disbelief apparent as he locked eyes with him. Nick stood his ground, jaws clenched, anger radiating from him as a wave of pain coursed through his veins.

"Seriously, where's Marcus?!" Nick asked again, disregarding the Alpha's surprise at seeing him after all these years.

"Well..." The Alpha began, regaining his composure.

"You should have a better idea of the answer than I do," he added, curious to gauge Nick's reaction, unaware of the imminent danger.

"I can't find any trace of him! You know what that means...!" Nick impatiently exclaimed to the Alpha, who was suddenly struck with realization.

"...he's in danger!" They both whispered simultaneously, their voices filled with anguish.

Just as they had a feeling something was up, they dashed outside, their gazes locking onto Silas. He stumbled towards them, his movements sluggish and unsteady.

Silas's clothes were in tatters, soaked in bloodstains. It was as if he had been viciously attacked. Little did they know, this was all part of Silas's scheme to make it seem like they had encountered a savage creature. His plan was to divert suspicion away from himself, the true culprit behind Marcus's demise.

They were totally baffled by the scene unfolding before them, frozen in disbelief as they struggled to comprehend the gravity of what might have transpired. Silas continued to stagger towards them, his movements growing weaker until he collapsed miserably at their feet.

In that moment, Nick's eyes widened with a sudden realization. "Marcus!" he whispered urgently, his voice filled with a mix of shock and determination. Without wasting another second, he darted off in the direction from which Silas had come, vanishing into the distance in search of Marcus.

Nick searched high and low, leaving no stone unturned in his desperate quest to find Marcus. He even tapped into his powers, hoping they would guide him, but it was all in vain. The weight of Marcus' loss hit him like a bolt of lightning, draining him of his strength. He couldn't muster the energy to use his powers to teleport back to the palace. Instead, he trudged back home, his steps unsteady, lost in a sea of thoughts about Marcus's untimely demise. It was a heavy burden to bear.

Nick finally arrived at the palace, and the king hurried over, his face filled with anticipation, hoping for some positive news about Marcus. The king peered into Nick's eyes, searching for answers, but Nick remained silent, struggling to regain his composure.

"He's... he's gone," Nick whispered to the king, his voice barely audible. The king was taken aback, his expression shifting from hope to sorrow. Nick staggered away, overwhelmed by the weight of his words, leaving the king standing there, stunned and speechless.

As Nick walked past Silas' chambers, he couldn't help but glance inside. There, he saw Silas lying unconscious on the bed, being treated with herbal remedies. Nick shook his head, a mix of calmness and anguish washing over him, and he continued on his way. "Marcus lives on forever," he whispered softly, a tribute to his fallen friend.

Meanwhile, the news of the prince's tragic death had spread throughout the entire kingdom. The people mourned him with heavy hearts, unaware of the treacherous nature of Chief Silas. Little did they know that the true enemy lay within their midst, disguised as a trusted member of the Royal household.

"Marc..?" Blair exclaimed, her mind jolted out of its reverie by a sound at the door. In an instant, she was fully alert, her heart racing with anticipation, hoping to see Marcus standing there, true to his promise.

Filled with excitement, Blair hurriedly made her way to the door, her hopes soaring high. But alas, as she swung open the door, her anticipation quickly turned to disappointment. Standing before her was someone unexpected, Madam Eunice, instead of Marcus.

"Ma'am?" Blair called out, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she stared at Madam Eunice in surprise. She couldn't help but wonder how Madam Eunice had managed to find her, knowing her current whereabouts.

However, Madam Eunice remained motionless, wearing a somber expression on her face. She wore a reluctant and gloomy demeanor, as Blair gestured for her to come inside. "Come on in, ma'am," she offered, her tone matching Madam Eunice's gloomy disposition.

As Madam Eunice stepped inside, Blair's curiosity got the better of her, and she attempted to ask Madam Eunice how she had found her. But before she could finish her question, Madam Eunice interjected, delivering the news bluntly. "He's gone," she stated, cutting short Blair's inquiry.

Many thoughts ran through Blair's mind as she became confused. "Who was gone?" She asked herself in total confusion

Blair's mind raced with a whirlwind of thoughts, leaving her utterly bewildered. "Who could be gone?" she pondered, her confusion growing with each passing moment.

Summoning the courage to seek clarity, Blair turned to Madam Eunice, her voice filled with trepidation. "Who is gone?" she asked, not wanting to jump to any conclusions prematurely.

With a sudden outburst of raw emotion, Madam Eunice couldn't contain her grief any longer. Her voice trembled as she cried out, "The Prince is gone! Prince Marcus is dead!" Her words hit Blair like a thunderclap, shattering her world in an instant.

Overwhelmed by a wave of disbelief and pain, Blair felt as if her head had been struck with a heavy blow. She stood there, rendered speechless, unable to comprehend the devastating reality unfolding before her eyes.

"He was killed by a beast in the woods," she added, her voice filled with sorrow.

"No... no... no... no," Blair repeated, her words barely escaping her lips as she shook her head in disbelief and anguish. Tears streamed down her cheeks, hot and uncontrollable, as the reality of living without Marcus sank deep within her.

The weight of Madam Eunice's words felt like a heavy blow to Blair's head, causing her entire world to crumble before her eyes. She stood there, rendered speechless, unable to comprehend the painful truth that had just been revealed about Marcus' untimely demise.

Blair couldn't comprehend the reality of what she had just heard. Stuttering and trembling, she sank to the ground, trying to make sense of the devastating news that Madam Eunice had delivered about Marcus' untimely demise.

"Blair!" Madam Eunice called out, her voice filled with concern as she attempted to lift Blair off the ground. But Blair resisted, pushing away any help offered. In that moment, all she wanted was to be left alone, to let her pain consume her.

She wanted to roll on the floor, to release her anguish and frustration. She wanted to pull at her hair, as if somehow it would make the pain more tangible. She wanted to cry uncontrollably, allowing her tears to wash away the shattered pieces of her heart. In her despair, she even wished to be left alone to fade away, for her world had crumbled into nothingness.

The weight of Madam Eunice's words echoed in Blair's mind. "He was killed by a beast in the woods," she had said. Blair couldn't accept it, shaking her head in denial and repeating, "No..no..no..no." Tears streamed down her cheeks, a testament to the immense grief that consumed her. The thought of living without Marcus, her love, felt unbearable, like a deep wound that would never heal.

"Blair, please, you have to try to gather yourself. I know this news is devastating, but Marcus entrusted your safety to me before he passed away. You can't lose yourself in grief" Madam Eunice pleaded to Blair whose ears were obviously shut.

"I understand that it's hard to believe, but you have to face reality. Let me be here for you." She added

'No..no..Marcus,' She softly said. It was clear that she was in complete disbelief, trying to make sense of the devastating news. It was like her mind couldn't fully grasp the reality of Marcus' passing.

In that moment, she looked around with a mix of confusion and desperation, as if searching for something that could bring him back.

"Leave me alone," She whispered. It seemed like she needed some space to process her emotions. She got up from the ground and ran outside, not even knowing where she was headed. The tears streaming down her cheeks showed just how deeply this loss had affected her.

Blair's world had ended for her right before her eyes as thoughts of Marcus filled her mind. Nothing could be compared to the pain she was feeling at that moment. She thumped her chest and heart as she ran. The lump in her heart only seemed to increase as she did so.

Blair's world crumbled before her very eyes as thoughts of Marcus consumed her mind. The pain she felt was unlike anything she had ever experienced. With each thump of her chest and each beat of her heart, the anguish only seemed to intensify.

As Blair ran, tears streaming down her face, memories of Marcus flooded her thoughts. She recalled the promises he had made, the moments they had shared, and the three precious words he had whispered to her: "I love you." Now, he was gone, leaving behind a void that seemed impossible to fill.

Her legs carried her forward, but her heart felt heavy with sorrow. The weight of her loss pressed down upon her, making each step a painful reminder of the love she had lost.

Blair was filled with so much anger and resentment towards him. She loved him deeply, and it was natural to feel betrayed by the promises he made.

It's painful when someone we care about makes beautiful promises, only for them to be taken away from us far too soon. The pain of loss can sometimes manifest as anger towards the person who left us behind.

It was like a fire burning inside her, fueled by the pain of his untimely departure. She couldn't help but hate him for making those sweet promises, only to have them shattered by his sudden death. The hurt ran deep, and she struggled to make sense of it all.

"Marcus!!!!" Blair's desperate scream echoed through the air, as if she hoped that by shouting his name, the unbearable pain in her heart would somehow be alleviated. But Marcus was gone, forever lost to her... or was he?
