Capítulo 40: Ease

I leaned against the door as I closed it behind us, taking a deep breath with the resounding click. Luc continued to the bed, sitting down as I closed my eyes. So many thoughts were running through my head and now that I had a chance to breathe again, the fatigue was coming back. 

"Are you alright?" I opened my eyes to see the hybrid as he sat on the bed and I pushed myself off the door, walking over to join him. I leaned against his shoulder as soon as I sat down, unable to help my sigh. "Lin?"

"I'm just… so exhausted," I admitted, accepting his hand as I felt his fingers brush mine. "I feel like ever since that case with Katie, I haven't been able to catch my breath. That was the most exciting my life has been since my fall and now-"
